how fast is the h22a in a 92-00 hatch,does it drive good?

How does the civic with a h22a drive and how fast is it in the quarter mile?Are there any custom parts needed for the swap?

im guessin it drives damn good... youd probably wanna get the hasport mounting kit for it tho..

you need to COMPLETELY upgrade your suspension and do a hell of a lot of work JUST to make the engine fit right and work well.

i was at the races one night and a civic 4d got on fire cause he had a h22a in there ... it was a girl racer to.. i was suprised

civic caught on fire cause it had an h22a in it, damn 4drs don't like h22's in it or what, that doesnt sound right.

My view on H22's is that if you have a Civic dont put one in it (didn't mean for it to ryme). Get a good swap like a B16A or B18C1 or 5. But if you really have sac and wanted the best swap you can get, get a CRVtec. It will smoke any other swaped car on the road. I am putting one in my 99 Si, and with just a 80 shot I should be easaly in the 12's and smoke'n all the guys with turboed Si's for only 800 bucks.

The only H22 ina civic i've seen was totally gutee don the inside and as far as i know didn;t have much more then bolt-ons. it was runing low-mid 12'sin a 92 DX. i've also seen a 92 CX with a H23 with bolt-ons full interior, running high 13's.

I doubt you're gonna be able to be running 12's with a CR-VTEC for just $800.. Granted, the longblock might be $800, but that doesn't include the cost of building the internals at all or anything.. Just revving it to 8000rpm alone is going to be stressful on it, and then putting an 80 shot on it.. I don't know how well that's gonna hold up..

Well my 1.6 block holds up just fine with a 80 shot. And a B20/Vtec put over 200 HP to the wheels, I think like 217, and it weighs less then a H22A. And its more like 1000 bucks all together, it needs a head gasket, oil line, and a pluged up oil passage that gets milled flat. The internals are the same as all honda blocks, cast. Being that is has more displacment it should hold up even better then a 1.6 B16A block. I know its not made to be reved as high as a B16A, but it will take 8000 just fine. My friend is running a boosted one with forged pistons and cryogenicly treated rods, and it has a 9000 red line. It should be pushing all most 700 HP. I plane on puting forged pistons and rods in latter. But either way you slice it, I'm going to be just as fast, probily faster, then turbocharged Si's for half, probily less, the money. I was at first going to turbocharge my engine, but some guy screws me over and he owes me $1800. Well anyways, I still say you dont get a H22, they aren't worth the work.

I like the h22a better because it has more potential than the b20vtec.And the h22 is made for the vtec head.What I mean is that the valves on the vtec head touch the pistons of the b20 and i saw a site with the b20vtec and it got 167 at the wheels.Witch is good but it can't beat the power and potential of hondas big block the h22a.The b20 had type R cams intake and exuast.H22a much better bang for buck. :laff:

Yeah didnt BDC do a post on this a little while ago? Like the first week the site was back up? You may want to try a search, I remember it being LONG and informative.

Hey xtreme what the hell are u smoking man, crvtec pushing 700hp u trippin, and saying the crvtec putting down 200 hp to the wheels stock that is just crazy where did u get this information from.
