are you sure about that? in most cases all of the tranny fluid is not removed at change which is why the drain and refill method causes you to change the fluid multiple times to remove all from inside the tranny.

thats why you take it to a shop and they hook it up to that pump thing and it gets all the shit out. ;)

first of all, don't get your transmission flushed ^ the pump thing at the shop.

To drain and refill: 1)you need to drain it first then refill.
2) drive the car around for a little bit, repeat drain and refill.
3) repeat step 2 until your fluid looks reddish, the color it should be
You will need at least 9-12 quarts to repeat step at least 3-4 times.

don't drive around!

after you have refilled your tranny, start your car, run through your gears like someone states above for about 7~10 mins.

for automatic, of course, from 4-3-2-1-2-3-4 and repeat the process. stay about 1 second for each gears when shifting.

same goes to manual. 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 and repeat the process. same length.

aah, of course, your car has to be on, and when you are done with this process, park your car in leveled ground, and put the gear in netural to check the level of fluid in your transmission, add if needed.

and you are set.
