My dad said one of my brother's firend wants him (my dad) to clear his head lights (96) and also install indiglo or reverse gauges.

I told him to charge $60 for both.

What do you guys think? $75? $50

We (dad and myself) cleared my head lights (98) back in 99 so he knows how to do it. I'll have to send him a link with instructions to install the gagues though.

I know it's 3-4 hours on the head lights, not sure about the gauges though

It took me like 6 hours the first time i cleared out the headlights then two the next time. I'd charge like 60 for the headlights and 30 for the gauges. It took me like an hour for the first time i did gauges but the following time barely took me anytime at all.

yeah charge him 30 for the gauges if it is your first time it will take you about an hour to put it in because you will be trying to figure stuff out. after the first time it takes me like 5 minutes to get in and take out everything.

why charge him? that's pretty dick, spread your knowledge to someone else man. i hate seeing stupid people on ebay auctioning off instructions on how to do this! it's a piece of paper that they're sellin for like $15!
don't charge him man, just do it as a favor. the gauges i can see why you'd be charging cause taking out that gauge bezzel is a pain the ass, but just taking off the bumper and taking out the light housing? just print him out the instructions or charge like $15 IF ANYTHING!
it's up to you though man.

Actually, it's my dad who will be doing the job. I'm still down in FL and this is up in Sav.

If my dad was not laid off from his job (was making 53k a year) then he would do it for free (I know him)! But, he's painted the neighbor's house, raked another's lawn / laid pine straw down / painted the mailbox.... so he is trying to just make a few bucks when he can.

If the boy was going to help and actually want to learn it would be a little different. But, the boy has no intentions to learn and just wants someone to do the job for him. Hell, drop the car off and pick it up looking 10X better for free??? .....I don't think it works that way!! And just because he has no interest to help / watch / learn, I feel it's fair to charge for this job.

I say $80 for the entire job will be fair!!
