i have seen this question asked a few times on here...

There is one sure-fire way to tell - the first 8 # from the VIN
for the distinctions for the 88-91 USDM CRX's go as follows:

HF - ***ED836
DX - ***ED8*5 (this one usually doesn't have a badge on it)
SI - ***ED936

(the *'s mean variable number, they can be different depending on where it was built, options, etc...)

just from the outside, wheels, rear wiper, sunroof, front lip/bumper, tail lights, exhaust, badging, wheels

inside - seats, stick/auto, guage cluster, seatbelts

let alone the engine differences...
