Hybrid Integra Question

Does anyone know where I can find the power numbers for a LS block with JDM Type R pistons (giving me about a 11.3:1 ratio as opposed to a 9.2:1 ratio) with a VTEC head on it?

I am looking to do this proceedure this summer but wanted to know if I would be better off with a H22. Please no comments on how "a integra with a H22 will handle like crap".

Thanks.

Is everything else going to be stock on the head and block? If it is, you might see around 150-160whp. Those are my guess. You can check some dynos out on www.importbuilders.com
if you have 11.3:1 Cr id like to know where you plan to buy gas for it? most LS/VTEC with a 10.2:1 CR (b16 head) put out aroung 170 hp. also if you went h22 you can fix the handling problems but i would be worried more about fitment problems. try something like a B18C1
11.3 is not a problem when it comes to pump gas. I say if you run this setup with everything else stock you would prob put out 165 whp. And a H22a would not make your car handle like crap. its only about 35 pounds heavier then the LS motor. If you do do this swap I would suggest somee internal buildup to give you some safety measures.

Finally...someone whos head isn't filled with the smoke people blow out of their asses. I agree with you SpeedxRacer, but isn't the H22 like 75 pounds heavier? I am not sure though.

Fitment problem? They make mount kits that would drop this engine right in. I know it is a little more difficult that just dropping it in, but it does fit, and you can keep your AC and PS.

Why would I buy a B18C? My car would be slower if I put that in.

You can run 11.3:1 on 92 octane.
sorry im new to integra hybrids. and 11.3 is a pob for me cause i only 91 or less octane. i knew handling wasnt a problem cause i have an h22, bu im not too familiar with the teg engine bay and what mounts they have for it.
You have an H22? How do you like it? I am looking at putting one in my teg possibly this summer if I don't do the LS/VTEC combo. I get flamed here because everyone thinks that it is going to handle like crap. Maybe you can dispell those rumors.

Thanks for the post.
Yes you can run 11.3:1 compression. Hell my friend has a fully built b20vtec with 12:1 compression pistons running on pump gas. With his head milled and p&p, he gets around 13:1 compression.
The H22a is 60 pounds heavier then a SOHC civic motor and about 30 or so pounds heavier then a B series motor. Nothing a rear sway bar cant adjust.
I have a H22a1 in my 95 Integra. Correction: Its about 75lbs. heavier than the B series motors. I'll be one of the first to try the H22 intake manifold when we ccome out with it. hehe
75lbs heavier then B series? No way it couldnt be since its only 60 pounds heavier then the D series on a civic. Oh by the way when is the manifold coming out?
D series IM is already out. H22 manifold is coming out in this summer. And yes its about 75lbs heavier than any B series. Have you seen the size of a H22? The head and block is ALOT bigger than B series. The transmission housing is HUGE.

What do you think of your swap. Any problems with it and how much did it cost you.

Have you run it at the track yet?

Thanks.
I think its a great swap. I havnt had any problems with it and handling is the same. Didnt really notice any difference in handling before and after. I already had Skunk2 coilovers, KYBAGX shocks and our 21mm rear sway bar. Did not run at the track yet but iam expecting high 13's on drag radials (555R). Ran me about 32 or so all together. I work at skunk so i had all the tools etc. to do the swap so labor was all me.

Thanks for the info. It's good to hear first hand from someone about this setup rather than hearing someone who knows nothing talk about how it will handle like crap.

Thanks again.
Skunk2Integra,

Is the car harder to turn in the corners because of the loss of PS? I've never driven a car w/o PS so I wouldn't know.
And also, was the swap hard or easy? Fill me in on everything because I want to do the swap really bad.
You don't have to lose your power steering for this swap.

Use the prelude power steering hose and it will fit in just fine.
I could have had PS if i wanted to but i was going for maximum HP so i didnt bother with it. Yes it is hard to turn at zero mph but after u get it started its fine. Parking is hard too, but i chose to have no PS, you can get it if you want, you just need the Preludes High pressure PS hose. The swap was easy considering ive done quite a few H22 swaps. I would say the hardest part would be the wiring and sawing/cutting the tunnel for the cable shifter.
