When you pop the hood on your car do people look at an engine? or do they look at a dirty oily mess? Spend time cleaning and getting to know your car, not ruining it with CF parts that arent worth a damn.
A clean (not clean like "oh shit that's clean") engine bay isn't only an asston of work, but something not everyone will notice like a CF hood...
However the first time you need to replace parts under the hood/want to do a wire tuck/want
any kind of respect at a car show be it a small one or a big one this makes
all the difference. This first, It'll run you about 150 bucks to do right but it's worth every penny. Yes it will cost money to do it right. You will need small wire brushes, engine cleaner, brake clean, small brass brushes, small plastic bristle brushes... the list goes on and on. Once you start there will be more and more that needs to be cleaned but it doesn't have to be all in one day.
If your going to mention weight savings dont even bother. I spent 550 on rims and 280 on a new set of tires. dropped 40 LBS of rotating weight. would you drop that much weight with a trunk and hood combined? i seriously doubt it.
Screw the weight he dropped. Seriously kid... that 40 pounds isn't worth shit. 40 pounds you will never feel after it's gone.... Oh wait, 40 pounds of weight VS. 40 pounds of ROTATING WEIGHT is a HUGE difference! Weight is just plain weight, 40 pounds is 40 pounds, but rotating mass is totally different. Can you lift 40 pounds? Yes. Can you spin a big heavy ass 80 pound wheel and tire to 1000 RPM? No. Can you spin a 40 pound wheel 1000 RPM? Hell no, but you'll be a lot closer. Rotating mass is WAY more important than regular weight. Not only did he drop 40 pounds, but his off the line pulls will be much faster and be less work on his motor and even more importantly his tranny, his MPG will lower mildly, and the new tires are safer... Win win all around
