i've got a 92 civic lx 4dr and i know i'm not gonna get rid of it anytime soon for financial reasons... the car is going on about 130,000 mi... so i ain't getting ish for it... I travel a lot...

so I was thinking... now that i have it back together... (car stolen recovered with some light damage... new exhaust, back to stock intake and had to get 13" wheels... )... how 'bout i give the car a heart transplant... If you've done it please gimme ur thoughts... if you know of someone or somewhere that can do it...

i was thinking... GSR v-tech engine 1.8L with tranny everything down to the clutch pedal assembly (cause my car it auto... my mom needed to drive the car too...), then do a greddy turbo upgrade... but i have no clue on what the costs might look like or who i can trust to do good work or where to get the engine...

PLEASE someone HELP!!! i don't care if ur a guy or girl just a push in the right direction would be appreciated...

All i need the car to be after the work is reliable... that's all i ask... i'd do a jackson racing supercharger.... but if i'm gonna do something i'm going all out... more or less... My next car is prob gonna be a S4 as soon as the new one gets to the states or maybe a se-r spec-v...

thanks all in advance...

wow youre really lost arent you :) turbo, jrsc, s4, vspec,....... :)

first of all its vtec ( i know some jackass would jump all over you for it :))

for a b18c1 swap , try to have about 5g on your hand :) shouldnt cost that much but just to be shure :)

if you want to go turbo and make carb , a greddy kit would be perfect , a greddy turbo b18c1 would set you back about 10g with installation :) as you can see its not a minor job.

LAblue thanks for the input... I think i'd go as far as the engine swap... but i just found a company... Level 10 they do tranny upgrades... so i can upgrade to a big turbo or what ever... What are ur thoughts on this...

I would in this case still do the the engine but nothe tranny... how much would the b18c1 engine matched to a auto set me back... i wouldn't buy the tranny but i'd like to have the correct ecu to start... Level 10 shows they're saying the tranny would be about $2,800... now i'm not totally crazy but what the hell you only live once...

i'd much raher do the whole engine tranny deal i don't know i like to be different... i'm not looking to spend enormous amounts of cash or time... but i will be happy with feedback for starters...

BTW i did mean spec-v but i ment the nissan se-r spec-V the 180HP 6 speed rocket... it's a really nice car... my boy just got one loaded and only paid about 18.5 for it... But thanks fr the correction anyhow...

auto = slow
if you have a 4 door you need a bigger engine to compensate, id say a b20z(crv 2.0L) with a SI head....good for 200+whp....
Everyone thinks that just b/c it's a 4 door, it's heavy.. The 4 door Civics really aren't THAT much heavier than the coupes..

if you're just going to get a new car eventually anyway, don't waste your money on the one you have. save it for upgrading your next car. and you'll have to change out your ecu when you change out the engine. your tranny will not mate up to a b18c, the only auto tranny is from an ls, so you'd have to get that. it'll still set you back a lot, so if you're getting another car, IMO, its not worth it.

thanks all... i'm not sure what to do... i don' think i'll get rid of my civic when i get my new car only cause i'm not gonna get anything for it... and a beater/winter/autocross car might be a possibility even though it's a4dr...

don't knock the auto... but i'd much rather stick... and by the looks of things i'd be looking at a 25 anniversery GTI... I'm a car enthusiest... i'm not picky about what i drive nor do i knock others for liking what they like... dubs are sweet... and who knows i might get a civic SI next... I don't know but think i'm taking the SAVE THE $$$ suggestion...

maybe when i have the cash to kick around after college or something...

thanks for the input... feel free to try to convince me i'm still torn...
