Due to family financial problems...I'll temporarily be leaving the Accord V6 community. My mom just told me I have to sell my car. My mom said I can only get a car for under or equal to $4000. So since I have a $4000 limit, here's my gameplan: Buy a used Hachi-roku and mod the hell out of it with the rest of the 4gs. My mom said I could get a new accord in 6 months so it's all good. Any other ideas?

selling and buying another V6 in 6 months will almost cost you $4000...why even bother?

$4000. hmmm. I love the AE86 Idea. Another I would do is an old Sentra SE-R and throw a turbo kit on it. Or get a 90-93 Accord Coupe and do an H22 Swap.

Good luck w/ what ever you choose. Hopefully we'll still see you around the board.

Try transfering the title and assuming the payments. That way, you don't have to waste money on selling and buying a new car.

There are legal ways to transfer your payments and credit, etc....

Do go with a 84-86 corrolla w/ a new 4ag engine, 89-93 S13 w/Sr20det, or some honda with a b-series swap?
uuhhh...this may seem like a stupid question, but why would you spend money modding a car you're only going to have for 6 months?

I don't care what others say. It's okay to be stock! :p

Or is there some rule floating around here that says you must spend 10k on modding your car to be part of the club?

(flame suit on :D)

If there's no way to keep your Accord, I'd just get something cheap and reliable, save your money and keep it stock, and then be one of the first to get an 03 AV6 in 6 months (yes, it will be out in about 6-7 months) and save your mod money for THAT!

If my car was totalled (again  ) tomorrow, that's probably what I'd do. Just a suggestion :)

Damn Matt, really sorry to hear about the troubles you are having. Really hope this is only TEMPORARY.

Is there another car in the family that you can use for 6 months? If you could live with driving your parents car you could save that $4000 for mods and toward payments for your next new car, whatever you end up with.

Whatever happens hope to see you a AV6'er again soon. Good luck with everything.

Get an AE86, that is 85-87 Corolla GTS. I just picked up an 85 GTS for $1600. It's a fun little car. You can go to drift, autocross, and track race with it!:D

I see you are already on club4ag.com, you'll learn lots from it.

Hey bro,.. that's exactly how I felt when I was laid off for 4 months. I haven't posted much and I'm pretty much out of the scene entirely. I know several friends' families who are in the same situation. You have to do what you have to do to stay afloat. Modding a car took the $$ out of me and I decided to stop one thing for all. Of course, I can pretend to be another giddy high schooler putting debt on my credit card and make my car fast, buttt.....I really think that's bad for now. I think you should just keep the Accord and do regular maintenance on it. You actually lose money if you sell now then buy later again.
