EASY man.

1) put gloves on to avoid harmful toxins from package containing toxic shift knob
2) pick it up
3) open package and remove shift knob
4) turn on your fireplace
5) make sure you have goggles on to avoid eye damage from the large bright flame that will occur
6) throw indiglo shift knob into fireplace
7) sit back and enjoy
8) after completing above steps...go get yourself a nice shiftknob without any type of lighting effects on it

I like that shift knob... it's simple and looks cool... Where did you get it?

It only has two wires right? If there are you can do a couple of things.. first you need to know when you want the knob to light up:

1. When the car is turned on only:

2. Anytime as long as the Power is supposed to be on ACC or ignition)

3. When your headlights are on.

Installation is very easy if there are only two wires. First figure out which wire is ground and which is power.... the ground can be attached to the chassis... make sure that the wires are snugly secured so tha they can't get tangled in the shift column. If you see a bolt anywhere near the shifter you can loosen that up a little and place the stripped negative wire around the bolt.. Tighten the bolt and you have your shifter grounded.

The tricky part is locating a power supply... it would be a good idea to have a shop service manual so you can locate a wire that feeds into power... your easiest bet would be to tap into the cigarette lighter positive wire since they are relatively close to one another... this will allow the shifter to light whenever the car is on or in the ACC position. The best way to tap into the power would be to go to radio shack and get a wire connecter... they are about 1 cm x 1 cm. I'll take a picture or find something similar on the web if you don't know what I'm talking about. Basically they allow you to splice into a wire without having to do any cutting.. they just clip in a way.
