INSURANCE SCREWED ME!! askin too much

was planning on picking up a Type R this may.. had the down payment ready ...... only thing left to do was get a quote on how much insurance would be for myself
21, single, only driver, clean record....

called certas(as seen on TV)... they asked a shit load of questions.. took about 10 mins to finish.... the didnt have a type R on thier computer... so they put me under a GSR model.... processed everything, results came back...

they said it would cost me $6000 CDN a year!!!
which works out to be $500 a month!!!
WTF!!!!! im not willing to pay that much... id rather be sitting in a NSX or a SUPRA for that much...

my dream of driving a Type R has been killed.... insurance companies suck....

try putting it under someone older in the insurance that has a clean record[ i.e. mom, dad..]. and make yoru selft a part time driver on it. thatll save you money.

dude that's an insane quote, especially for a clean record. try calling other insurance companies, i'm sure there's somebody that'll offer you a lower price.

mine comes out to about $1800 per year. Definitely look into other insurance companies.

I pay 7800 cdn for my 1998 corolla. 18, clean record. No one seems to understand insurance in Toronto is a bitch.

2K.. thats really good... wish i could have my mom as first driver on the insurance.. but i dont think that would work... 3 drivers for 3 cars... i dunno... but it would be really cool if things worked out.

i have that right now as well. 3 cars 3 drivers.

dad on van. mom on R, me on corolla. i'm paying 7800 now.
my friend was quoted 8400 on a 2000 civic (17 at hte time).

take whatever u would've paid for secondary, and multiply it by 6 and that's around what u should pay if u'r primary.

Car Insurance Companys can be a rip.

I had a turbo charged 4 banger that they wanted to charge 400 a month for insurance on...I said screw it and go liability insurance instead of full coverage. Theres a site where you can complain about insurance company's
