i bought the AEM because i think to some degree, you get what you pay for. don't let people tell you it's just a pipe and a filter. AEM designs the bends in the pipe to create a resonance to maximize midrange power.

this isn't to say other quality brands, such as comptech or iceman won't work. but i am always weary of cheap imitations which typically get the look right, but not the quality or performance.

I agree...I think that the way it is engineered is important. I have heard many people say that the AEM is best for the integ but I bought a cold air Injen for $50.00 off my friend and it is pretty good. Around 3000 RPM you can really start to hear the air being sucked in.

i believe i read somewhere that Injen was created by former AEM employees... i would include them among the quality brands.

I didn't know that...see what happens when you don't pay your employees well. Yeah I know Injen is pretty good but not nowhere near as expensive as the damn AEM. I see those going for around $230.

Look at pipe diameter and type of filter when purchasing any intake system.

that's a funny episode, though aren't all of them...

PPI makes some nice amps. i have a pc450 running my front a/d/s components and a pc1400 powering my infinity perfect 10.

i used to have infinity kappa components in the front and still have their coaxs in the rear, but use the fader to silence them... i should bridge the PPI to just power the front. i think the a/d/s sound great by themselves, though i need to adjust the crossover points on both amps a little to allow the a/d/s to do less work and allow the 10 to do a little more.

both Injen and AEM make good intakes, the Comptech Icebox is also another proven alternative for anyone worried/paranoid about hydrolock....and that thing AEM makes is crap and i dont believe it'll work. it just sucks down your dyno numbers.

sport compact car did a test where they submerged the filter in a fish tank while hooked up to an NSX. the bypass valve prevented any water from entering the engine. check it out (i updated the link with the complete article):

Also Philbert, the article about the NSX and AEM CAI has been seen by many, and I'm sure that junglistgsr has seen it, but i think he's just doesn't like it because the fact that is for some reason loses HP because you have to cut the intake. But anyhow, its a nice article for those who have not seen it. Thanks for the link Philbert.

Well I used Morpheus, but when they had issues I switched over to KaZaA.
