The Greddy kit is nice - well made and supported by lots of good R&D. Kit quality aside, you should have NO problems running the kit on your stock internals, as long as you keep the boost under control. You get everything you need to run well and run reliably with the Greddy kit. IIRC, the boost level is set at 6psi which is enough to be fun, but not so much that you'll have to go build your engine.

My B16

Hey i have an Si and it runs safely with the GReddy kit and internals. I have it set for 6.5psi but i can increase it to 8 which makes the car feel REAL fast. sometimes though when i set it at 8 it reaches 9.5 at times but it stays around 8 & 8.5 most of the time. I just recently ordered a clutch and some spark plugs and wires. So now it should really be crazy.

!Holla!

Ok thanks everyone....6-7 pounds is plenty for me. I just want some extra power. Once it gets a little bit closer I will post back with some more questions...
Thanks

If your fuel and spark is tuned well, you can boost more than 15psi and still be fine. Stock B-series motors can make over 350hp with the right tuning. Don't even worry about the low boost GReddy kit, you'll be fine.

tuning and fuel are a key to runnin more boost........greddy makes a very great kit that supports up to 15lbs of boost(its street legal too)

i am running 7 lbs of boost in my car. As what Matt3t4 said. Proper tuning will do the trick. Just make sure that you have an upgraded fuel and ignition setup.

Not running stock internals with my d16y8 anymore but I remember when I was, proper tuning, ample spark and fuel did the trick. 12 psi and was running high 13's low 14's with gutted interior 195-55-15 size Kumho supra tires. Now pushing 15 psi daily because gas can get expensive.

thats an awful lot of boost for that small greddy turbo, its gonna be pumping out hella heat, imo the greddy is a nice kit, but doesnt make the power a drag kit or any t3/t4 kit makes. but again tuning is the key.

theb 16 has a good bore to stroke ratio so that it is incredibly strong and allows itself to rev high. Thus making it a strong engine.... greddy would be a great kit to use on your car unless you plan to run more than 14 psi. i believe that is the cut off point for the greddy... 14 or 17... forgot which one... that kit (to the best of my knowledge) is lagless so it would make a great daily driver... spend an hour or less on a dyno tuning it with a vafc (hondata fms would be better but most of us don't have that much cash to blow) and you should be set

The drag or fmax kit utilize a t3/t4 hybrid compressor which is good for large amounts of boost but they do have lag... i would say get the greddy kit, according to them you can upgrade the turbo and still keep that exhaust manifold and downpipe...

hope i helped :D

i have a 99 si. want to turbo but it is used for my daily driver. i was thinking of stroking the engine to a 1.8 from crower. then do a complete valvetrain redo, turbocams, valves, springs, and retainers, all from crower, then i was going to buy the greddy si turbo kit. im new at turbos and dont know alot about them, but i know alot about all motor. got a freind with a stroked gsr engine making 290 to the wheels without the juice. any input on my combination would be appreciated..
