I was just wondering, I just picked up a 98 civic and I think I heard that the best engine swap to do is the B18C. Is there a better engine swap??? If this is the best swap to do, is it street legal and smog legal. Thanks for any help that any of you can give me

If you want it to be legal you neede to take it to the california smog ref who will test it and the whole deal. Then you will be able to register it as a US spec Si-R. But thats a big hassle...most of the cops in cali dont know what engine is supposed to be in the car...But if you have someone at a smog station who is cool, just swap the engine and have them pass you no questions asked. But everyone else is right...same year or newer engine. But if you get a TEST ONLY notice from DMV your screwed unless you had the smog ref certify the swap...So its a little border line. Im hoping to have my car on a trailer before I get that notice.
