Why do you need a burner to game?

a Barton core 2500 XP processors is actually a 1.833 Ghz processor. It supposed to perform the same as the P4 2.5 Ghz processor.

Careful, there are two barton core 3000 XP processors one has a 333 FSB and the other has a 400 FSB (AXDA3000DKV4E is the part number for the 400 mhz FSB)

Below taken from AMD site:

"Barton"
AXDA3200DKV4E 3200+ 2200MHz 11x 400MHz 512KB
AXDA3000DKV4E 3000+ 2100MHz 10.5x
AXDA3000DKV4D 3000+ 2167MHz 13x 333MHz
AXDA2800DKV4D 2800+ 2083MHz 12.5x
AXDA2600DKV4D 2600+ 1917MHz 11.5x
AXDA2500DKV4D 2500+ 1833MHz 11x

Model 8
"Thoroughbred"
AXDA2700DKV3D 2700+ 2167MHz 13x 333MHz 256KB
AXDA2600DKV3D 2600+ 2083MHz 12.5x
AXDA2600DKV3C 2600+ 2133MHz 16x 266MHz

I need the DVD burner, and also will look at those blank medias.

another ? about the processors, so will the AMD 3000+ Barton 400mhz fsb be a good one to overclock later in the future? or is thoughbreds better for overclocking? i plan to do some OC'ing later.

just got the money today, all ready and set to order it off newegg.com as soon as i pick the right processor.

is that mobo compatible with the 3000+barton 400mhz fsb?

so corsair is a better and cheaper ram than the kingston?

the sony burner you want is model DRU-510A

ram looks good

as for cpu..you said youre a gamer, personally i'd wait till next month when amd releases the athlon 64 3000 and 3400

the 64 bit chips have proven they kick ass in 32 bit apps..plus it'll get you ready for all the 64 bit games coming out in the next couple months

if you aren't down for that, get the xp 3000 400mhz fsb

i'm using the epox 8rda+ to overclock my 1700....its at 2600 on air cooling

i'd reccomend this board forever since you said you wanna overclock

well thanks guys for the help, I switched over to the AMD XP 3000+ barton 400mhz fsb processor, and got Corsair XMS 2x512 400mhz 3200 DDR ram, and that arcitic silver thermal paste, and got the rest of the stuff i listed, including tower, and a lighted fan, and thats it i guess. total of 802.00 not bad :) hope its gonna be a badass comp for me.. my old setup is 1ghz gateway intel PIII 233FSB with 512 SDRAM 400w ps 126mb ATI 9500pro.

Flight simulator should be tons better with the new setup! :)

im starting to read on stuff at www.overclockersclub.com i dont plan on to try to OC it until this summer.

my next project is to get some kind of heat controlled speed regulator so that i don't have to adjust the fan by myself... the first time i played a game with that overclock i look at my temps when i come out of the game and the poor proc was reading 55C lol... cranked it up to full power (sounded like a frickin tornado in my case) and the temps dropped within 40 seconds or so. just don't leave that fan on full... heh you'll go deaf.
