Hey wuts up everyone...I think i heard this was a common problem that civics tend to lean more on the left rear cause of the weight distribution, am I the only one with this prob...no one notices it but its an eye sore to me...plus i know its not the springs settling cause the springs were on almost instantly when i drove off the lot...2 years ago. Thanx for ur help.

same situation on my 93 civic coupe.
the left rear is about .5" to .75" lower than the right side.
i dont know what the ffffing problem is.
right now i'm on my second suspension setup.
the first was H&R race springs with tokico shocks
and now i have Neuspeed race with Koni Yellows but i still have the same problem. i've seen it on other civics but not all of them are lower on that rear left side (maybe they have coilovers).

same here. i'm dropped on H&R springs and my left side sits a bit lower on the left side. the front left is the lowest, and is almost tucking the tire. the front right has like a 1-2 finger gap. if anybody figures out what it is, and how to fix it, let me know cause it is pretty irritating.

i used to have that problem with matrix springs. the entire driver (left) side of my car looked slightly lower than the passenger (right) side of my car, and the front wasn't as low as the rear. so if u could imagine, my car was lowest at the rear-driver and highest at the front-passenger. it was awkward looking, and it bugged the shit out of me so i bought some better springs and barely put them in yesterday. looks alot better now.

For sale: MATRIX lowering springs for civic...:D

me too but different

I've had this happen twice now ..

When I first installed my springs and shocks (Eiback Pro-Kit w/ Billsteins) I was higher in the rear but even left to right. Handling was neutral and stable.

After a while I noticed handling had deteriorated - car would underteer in hard right turns but was okay turning left. The front left had dropped about an inch. Severl techs looked it over but couldn't figure it out. Finally we pulled both front assemblies to measure spring heights, they were the same so we took it all apart to swap springs to see if there was a rate difference, we put it all back together and it was fine again.

Lately I've noticed handling at speed has become strange. During right sweepers the rear suddenly steps out, but during left turns it's very stable. I expected the front end to have a front to left difference again but they were even. What was really weird was that the front left camber appears visably negative. After a couple of people commented that it looks like I lowered my car (nobody noticed before) I looked more closely .. it seems I've dropped height on 3 corners and the right rear is higher.

Tomorrow my suspension tech is looking it over again and we expect to have to tear it all apart again...

update - level again

Today we took the front shock / spring assemblies apart, all loooked fine, springs side by side were same height, mounts & bushings were all good and equal. So, we just swapped left and right springs again, put in all back together and bingo - left and right is level again! (w/i 1/8th inch)

I still think the whole car is slightly lower than when I first installed the springs (40-50K miles ago).

Hate to say it but I think the only answer is that the Eibach springs do settle over time, the spring rates seem to deteriorate, and not all at the same rate!

For all you experiencing the same problem I'd suggest you try swapping the left and right springs and see if that helps you too.

aaarrrgggh!

This is really a f'ing weird symptom. I ruled out worn bushings as well since had problem before and after I tore whole suspension apart to install a complete energy suspension bushing kit - even did the trailing arms. Could be it's straight now just from taking it apart again, will see after it settles. Think I might just start measuring some other Civics, maybe they're all like this?! One thing I recall from trying to figure this out another time, when we put the car on the lift the front right hung lower than the the left, this is the same side that's higher when on the ground.

Makes a good case for coilovers!

MAN THIS LOOKS LIKE A CONTAGIOUS CIVIC DISEASE...

No on notices but I think civics non hatch tend to fall victims to this.....but the thing is...at stock hieght...if u notcied...its not lower any side...its even...so could it be the bump stop? or blown shock because its heavier on that side? Also, how do u know if u have a blown shock? Second, does this affect tire thread wear? Thanks for the help guys I appreciate...its just sad that the civic forum out of all people couldn't help me when I asked.....

It's the excess weight of the fuel door.

J/K I have no idea what it could be.

This was covered once before. The reason for the body lean on the left of the car is due to the weight distribution in the front of the car. On the left side you have the steering column much of the engine and other components that weight it down including the driver. On the passenger side you have a battery and airbox... compare the 2 weights.... much heavier on the left side.. That is the reason for the lean. want to fix it? get coilovers or coilover sleeves. This happens even with the stock suspension on. i measured it and it was about .25-.5 inches lower on the left than the right. it's just more noticeable when dropped.
