I have a built b16 10:6:1 comp going turbo.
You have been there done that, so your in the know.
Stock compression. KICKED ASS for 2 years. Built it to 9.5:1...sucked, sold it.

stock compression is good on the jump because it spools faster, but with a 9.0:1 compression you will be able to boost more: assuming a built block and hondata.

which is better?
a high compressed motor @10psi
or 15psi 9.0:1? all other things being equal.

Ah... the ultimate debate. How many times have we been over this? Given proper tuning, higher compression is definitely better. If you are going to go with either a FPR or the FMAX setup, I'd say lower the compression is probably better. You see, it comes down to money. It's probably cheaper to drop the compression (gasket), but it costs a lot more to upgrade the fuel system. You'll need some kind of engine management, injectors, fuel pressure regulators, intank fuel pumps, and LOTS of tunning.

So the choice is left in the hands of the tuner.

PS: Stock Honda head gaskets are pretty weak. So even if you are going to stick with stock compression, it's probably a good idea to replace the head gasket to a metal one. I've seen way too many engines go because of the gasket.

i think my plan now is gona be getting the type-r with either a drag kit or a fmax kit, with the drag kit ill have to buy injectors and a vafc, but it should be all good....i hope:)
