My AEM CAI showed up today, and I'm too excited. It's sitting on my bed right now, ready to be installed...

LX98Civic, if you're reading this, would you recommend going at it solo? I'm too anxious to wait until Saturday to do it with my dad, so I was thinking of calling him up at work and talking him into letting me start it today, right now. It really doesn't seem all that difficult... Remove bumper, disconnect battery, unbolt old airbox, remove hoses, take out old airbox, bolt in new intake, hook up hoses, hook up battery...?

We all remember what happened last time I went into a DIY project on my own... ;)

If you feel confident in doing I say go for it. I know i would have ripped it out of the box taken it straight to the car and went at it, but that's just me.:D

Okay, after a while, I'm finally almost finished :D ONE problem though. The two hoses (one sensor and the other, a metal hose) WON'T reach to the intake! I've heard of other people having this same problem, so hopefully someone will know how to correct it :)

The only problem left is, if you'll look at http://www.5ilver.net/~eric/trouble/hoses.jpg , you will see the metal breather hose (located on the far right of that image) WON'T "bend" and connect to the nipple on the intake. My dad suggested buying a replacement hose. Who would be open this late tonight (6:45 PM) that would have such a replacement?

That's b/c you're supposed to use the replacement hoses that come with your intake..

yup yup, he's correct, HOWEVER, the hoses that came with MY intake didn't fit the sensor right so i had to jerry rig the sensor with the old hose for the sensor and it worked ;)

just mess around with it a little
if you DO need another hose, check out checker autoparts or autozone or any of those places, good luck man

Same situation here, man. My intake came with one 1 1/2" 3/8" diameter hose, but nothing long enough to reach from the breather nipple on the valve cover to the nipple on the intake itself. My dad is running out to Pepboys (or Autozone, his choice :p ) tonight to pick one up for me. Thanks dad!! Other than that, CAI is good to go :D
