Ok, i posted this in the prelude forum, but maybe you guys know more about this stuff

Is there any other difference between the h22 here and the type-s h22 motor there, other than the type s has 20 more hp?

I think i heard that the type s has more torque and at lower rpms (not sure though)

also is there a difference in transmissions?

what i'm getting at is, is it worth it?

is there any difference between the 200hp motor here and the 200hp motor there?

please help me i am stupid:confused:

i mean does the type-s have just 20 extra hp with all that stuff (cams, pistons, ect) or is there any differance in torque or how usable the power is ( is there more low end power and stuff like that)? ? a dyno comes in handy here

is it the same as putting type s stuff in a usdm h22 or even, is it the same as putting on bolt ons that create 20 extra hp to a usdm motor

and do the transmissions have different gear ratios?

any info would be appreciated:)

the engine difference, is in the cams, the higher compression pistons and a better exhaust manifold.
american h22 engines are slightly lower compression as far as i know. they have a 10:1, while jdm have a 10.6;1 and type s is like 11:1
i havent been able to find anything that differentiates the tranny's though i would guess the type s is more likely to get an lsd...

i know what you wrote. i didnt just think the 20 hp comes from nowhere
i was just askin if it had more torque or if the powerband is better ( i heard that somewhere)
i wasnt sure if i raised the compression to the same as the type s or put 20 hp worth of bolt ons would my motor be the same as a type s or is there anything special about it

it just seems like no ones answering my questions, theyre just telling me stuff i already knew:rolleyes:

if you buy a header, higher compression pistons and cams for an h22 NON type s it will also produce more power.

header runs about $340-450, cams maybe $500 or so, pistons/rods will run you another $1000 or so....

and Jason Kidd has a type s engine in his accord...

I priced out the h22a and the h22a type-s. There is about a $2000 difference for the type-s's 20hp and 10lbft of torque. For that much money you could buy the h22a and get a nos setup and an lsd, or like v4lu3s said you could get a bunch of bolt on parts and end up with a little more hp than the type-s has.
