Section 7.13 at this site...

You can also go check out the website for Aquamist.co.uk, since they make the water injection kit for JR. But since they sell the product, their information isn't as truthful as the link above. My opinion. My space.
wow.. that site was very informative..

as that site said, the water injection is supposed to help alleviate detonation.. I've had mine as long as the jrsc, so I couldn't really tell you the difference between having it and not having it.. I definitely don't detonate at all though..
but if it just to prevent detonation, can't I get a cam gear and Retard it a few (maybe 3) degrees and it'll work just as good?

WTF are you talking about? No, you can't tune out detonation with a cam gear. You retard ignition timing, lower the boost, richen the mixture, or increase the octane rating.

Who the hell is passing this kind of information out?
will you get any HP from it?
if you've got forced induction of ANY sort -- Turbo, Supercharger, Nitrous -- or any high compression setup....

YOU NEED to retard your timing. THIS DOES prevent detonation/knock in your engine. In short, it will make it last longer!

WHERE'S that BDC when you need him?

ABOUT THE SC water injection, i'm wondering too man!! Hope you get the answers you need!

A cam gear advances/retards VALVE TIMING, which does nothing to prevent detonation. You need to retard IGNITION TIMING to prevent detonation. (Ideally, your ignition timing should produce peak cylinder pressures at 10-12 degrees after top dead center. That will provide peak power. Advance it too much and you put strain on the rods and bearings. Retard it too much and you overheat your motor.) Read my response again, this time, read it carefully.

As for the water injection, read the link I provided. There's nothing to wonder. It will definitely lower intake temp, but it's definitely not good for the motor.

This is exactly why the quality of Superhonda is dropping. Lots of crap information...

geez... sorry we're not all as smart as you:( :(

since you're so smart, care to answer a question I've asked in 5 different places..?/

What the gear ratios of the D series (SOHC's) tranny. I need to know the auto and the manual,,,.. through each gear..

All I can find is info on the dam B series.

Here's what I got:

............RS/LS ..... GS-R ..... Type R
1st ..... 3.230..... 3.230 ..... 3.230
2nd ..... 1.900 ..... 1.900 ..... 2.105
3rd ..... 1.269 ..... 1.360 ..... 1.468
4th..... 0.966 ..... 1.034 ..... 1.117
5th ..... 0.714 ..... 0.787 ..... 0.850
FD ..... 4.266 ..... 4.400 ..... 4.800

also, the CVT from 2001 sohc wouldn't bolt right up would it? I was taught d series trans works with d series motots, and b series tranny works with b series motors... I don't see why not!

Thanks dude.. I should have sat and thought before I posted those last two....

Hey, I'm down with Hondas, but I'm not an encyclopedia. I won't even lie that I know everything. However, these people may be able to help you out with the gearing you seek...

Comptech (916) 939-9118
Oscar Jackson (714) 891-1113
Henry at Motorsport Dynamics (916) 648-8000
Dan at Pinnacle Autoworx (916) 456-8943
Skunk2/Group A (510) 781-0538

Since Comptech, Oscar, Henry, and Group A all have dynos, I would imagine they would have a list of gear ratios. (Since they have to enter in the ratio and final drive on the dyno so it can figure out the power output. There's no Hondas I know of that come with a perfect 1:1 4th gear ratio.) Dan just knows a lot of shit. Anyways, give them a try. Even if they don't know, I am positive they will know someone that does. Good luck.
Thanks for the numbers... I'll store them somewhere for next time!

I found out earlier today myself, but I appreciate your help man...

you shouldnt post anything stupid about changing Valve Timing for forced induction.....get the facts straight
