wassup guyz,
a friend of mine has an
94 accord auto

and when he drives, around 40-60 the rpm Jump from 3-4
or maybe 5-6
what is the problem with the car.
the needles go up really fast and then go back to normal.

i drove it, to see what it was..
it happened couple times
but afterward, it didnt happen as often
but he tells me that it happens all the time

when i test it, i think it happens Before it shift to third gear

Has anyone messed with the gauge cluster at all? Sometimes if someone installes gauge faces or something, they may have messed something up.

all stock

his car is all stock, he keeps regular maintenance of the car
i dont know what would be the problem,
i thought maybe it would be like cut off of fuel?

When I autocross my car, I rev the crap out of the engine and the rev limiter doesn't cut in until about 7000 rpm, way above the red part! I don't know what could be the problem, maybe it's a rpm sensor (cam, crank) or the gauge itself

If this occurs when the car shifts, that means the tranny is slipping before it can grab the next gear. If the tranny is the case, it would be recommended that you take the car to a tranny shop to get it checked out. Is the engine check light on?

what if it occur not when it shift?

im not really sure if it is happening when the car shift...

what if it occurs not when it is shifting? would it be a different case?

no check lights is on nor any other lights.....

i want to know what it is wrong and if im able to fix it myself...

if not then, probably tell him to take his car to the shop , check for the tranny.

it could be his distributor...my cousin's crx was doing the same thing. the rpm needle kept jumping up and down while driving normally...we changed out the distributor and no more needles jumping in the dash! hehehe

haha you juss described my car Drag-On... tranny is fucked n my check engine light is on... but is all good.. my car goes into the shop on thursday... n sending the TC to level ten etc etc....
