Hey ya'll,
My Tokico (blue's) are done and I am trying to decide which shocks to buy to replace e'm. Think bang for the buck. The car is my daily driver and I'm racking up 30K miles per year. Planning on buying a 2nd car (S2000, M3, RX-8 or 350Z, etc.) so I need my Teg to serve as a low buck commuter and still leave me enough cash to buy #2.

Are the KYB AGX worth the extra cash above the Tokico (blue)?

Thanks!

KYB AGX are a good shock and are worth the money...they arent weak and from my experience seem to be a stronger shock than the more expensive Tokico Illumina....they can handle a drop over 1.5" as i know many people that have their cars lowered more than that with them and they still function well....but i wouldnt slam a car on them.....2" drop MAX is what i'd do...but like the guy above said anything over 1.5" will void your warranty if they blow (which i doubt is likely)

i had the KYB's lowered with Eibach Sportlines, and i didnt really care about the 1.5 in. warranty thing. They were good shocks, but the Koni yellows are BY FAR better! They are smooth and a lot less rough on bumps in the road.

My KYBS are kick ass shocks!!! I love them. I am dropped about 2 inches and they handle like a dream. I don't trust the Koni set up since they relay on small ass C clips to hold the car up...Just not my thing. I am riding on skunk2 coilovers and its not bad at all. stiff on setting 4 though:) softer on setting 1. handle very well and I recommend them to everyone!

This guy must think your shocks suport the weight of the car. Maybe someone should tell him it's the springs that do that.
the perch sits on the thing he is talking about, but i still have NEVER heard of a problem...and by now, if there was a problem i think i would have heard of someone with it.
