Like you said. All for show, not for speed. hehehe. I don't know, sorry I don't have an auto. l8s
i gots a 4 banger but wat i do when launching from a light is power break... i also have a auto ..i put in D3 and slam that sucker to the floor and go!!
i hope that helps u out
:)
put in D3. . . push the brake. . . . you learn that you have to REALLY hold it down, i rev to 1200 rpm. let the brake go . . . i don't floor it til it shifts then i go all the way. sorry not good at explainging things but hope this helps.. . .no neutral drops tho.
i have a leg on brake and leg on gas.

I start from D1 go to bout 5 rpm
Shift and so on. Most likely won't go to D4
the only time it matters where you start your shifter is when you plan to go above about 110. most of the time i just put it in d3 and power-brake.
wut rpm do you guys go up to when you power brake.

i usually go to about 2200, any higher than that and i spin out too much. i think 6th gen v6 is limited to about 3000.
driving an auto

1. make sure the other guy is on ur driver side
2. Roll down ur window
3. put tranny in D3, power brake
4. Hang left arm out window
5. when the light turns green, floor it and pump arm wildly screaming "GO GO GO GO"
6. Watch as ur opponent makes some mistake cause he is laughing his ass off and u win

sorry but i got a manual and i had to say it
You guys with the auto trannies...especially v6 ones...should not be shifting the auto shifter manually. That will defenitly make it go out quicker. Even though its not the best on your car, just power brake to get a better launch. Your guys car already starts in 1st gear.

yeah, thats what i was sayin in my post. it just doesnt make sense to me why people think that manually putting it in first gear and trying to shift at redline is better than having the transmission put it in first and shifting exactly at redline everytime.

hahahha that's a little outrageous with the "GO GO GO GO" arm motions :p
i got a 4 cyl auto. When i change gears from 1st to 2nd i learned to change it right when the rev limiter is about to kick in. So it just goes straight into 2nd really good, its like it pops in. I know im redliniing but i dont do it all the time so it doesnt bother me.
About the manual shifting in auto. The manual explains that we are able to shift from 1-2-3-4 manually. I'm pretty sure if honda says it's ok then it should be ok

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!

dats to funny dude. :p
What you do is when you're at the light, pop it in neutral, start bouncing off the rev limiter, keep it floored, and when the light turns green, drop it in d4 and watch your tranny fall to the floor! I just brake torque a little, in d4, and floor it, that's the best way for me.
i found that if i put it in gear 1 then i get more torgue than if i was starting in d4. i have beat hella accords this way lets see....94 accord lx, ex...civics(of course) 240sx, some old integra and many more. usually i hit first gear and then run it up to d3 and stay there. o yea i dont peel out. maybe its my car or their racing...i dont knwo but i just beat them

91 honda accord ex
hey wouldnt that really fuck up transmission and take it out of comission too soon?
just how damaging is that i wonder?
i got worried about that lolz so i only do it if i dont know if i can win...not very often. just dont run the gears and scratch em that will kill ur tranny
