You can have your stock one lightened/balanced for about $100 to good street weight. Otherwise I'd suggest the Clutchmasters flywheel to match your clutch. They got them on Group Buy for $295 shipped. The Fidanza is the same thing but for $450.
check my SIG. I don't regret my set-up at all....I got great result....and it's far the best mod by the$$$ I've done.
cm flywheel man? 9lbs? i can get them on ebay for 265 shipped...is this a good day

I think from SUMMIT....not sure I gotta dig through my files. since I got lots of receipts for the stuff I brought.

But I'm pretty sure.
yea let me know bro...good looks
if your boosting get the lightest flywheel you can. it will reduce turbo lag and if you have a small snail itll spool really fast. i weighed my fidenza at 5.5 lbs. and it rocks.
yea the reason for changing the clutch and flywheel is for my up and coming turbo...
has anyone had any experiences with the cm flywheels and clutches chattering or the flywheels cracking? i've heard these stories...but dunno wut to think of cm...a lil help please?

Ha Ha nah... I hear the same thing....but really I think its from installing them wrong......and beat the living crap outta them.

Oh yeah you know you should "break them in" before doing serious driving....cause thats what most people do since they are not patient.

But I gotta say I LOVE my clutch and flywheel. Check my SIG
yea ho wmuch of a difference did you feel man? and i heard its harder to start your car rolling in first gear...lik eyou gotta get use to moving at a higher rpm? this true?
I heard that a lightned f.w won't give you any more hp, but what it does do is reduce the rotational mass on the engine therefore it will rev more quickly. Your car sould feel faster. better throttle response too, so you can practice perfecting heel-toe downshifts. One downside is that you might bog off the line at first, but once you get used to it, it should be no problem.
Yes it's true, flywheels (like trannies...) don't actually increase hp output of the motor, but what they do is increase the "usable" amount of hp.

Heavy flywheels take longer to increase inertia when you step on the gas, that's why a light one gives better acceleration while you are already moving. But a light one is easier to stop the inertia, that's why you bog more when the clutch engages right off the line. It's all about simple physics, gentlemen! :)
amen to physics:) unfortunately less inertia or rotational mass also means theres alot less torque. this is because there is alot less rotational FORCE (the spinning weight pushing out from the center of the flywheel that keeps it moving) in the flywheel to be transfered through the transmission.
wow that was a good definition if i must say so myself. I can even understand that.
Is the CM a cromoly or aluminum?
its aluminum...okay my choices are a 9lb aluminum cm flywheel..or a stronger chromoly 12lb flywheel...which one to go with? need opinions..thanx
12!!! unless u going tru turbo. I drove my friend's car which was machined and took off about 5 pounts... still i love the throttle response... I'm going to get mine machined as well..

I'd go for the 9lb flywheel as long as you buy a stage 3 or less. But DO NOT buy clutches that change clutch feel.

I'll have to look at what brand clutches not to buy.I'm just not 100% sure untill I get back at home...But Clutch masters is def. one brand to buy.....

but if you're gonna go for a stage 4 and up I'd get the 12lb flywheel.
