I know people say that ls/vtec is unreliable if it wans't built right, but what if you kept the stock rev limit, got a vtec oil pump, would it be reliable then? or would it be a waste of money

if the motor was built right, reliablity is very good. and like you said the rpms play a role. RPM= Ruin Peoples Motors.
you dont have to keep the stock redline if you upgrade your valvetrain. but if it is a daily driver i wouldnt put the readline much past 8k.

I love that quote...anyways, I dont see any reason for you to push the needle past 8k. Like I said before, if you SEARCHED, all power is made before 8k.

The higher you push the redline, the more "side-loading" you are putting....which will cause you to throw a piston right through the block.

Just stick with what you said..."Stay within the stock rev-limit"
