k fellas here is the situation i have the f22b twin cam, and i want to do some maintenance, i changed plugs, belts, and alternator. now i want to adjust the valves, i have been told to use the h23 specs i believe .006 intake and .007 exhaust. pls correct me if incorrect or if you have actual f22b twin cam specs pls post em, who has knowledge on the interchangeable parts between the f and h series motors i.e. cams, cam gears, headers, and bottom end. i need some assistance people to what i can put onto this motor.

where did you get the motor from, I've been looking and have only found one place that has them. I want to make sure I'm gett a good deal.
well i got it out here in california from a friend who owns a shop, but the engine is picking up on popularity more than i thought it would. complete engine tranny and ecu will go for around 1000 give or take, but since more people are lookin to get them they will most likely raise the price as well. then i would just stick to the h23 engine, im am kinda regretting that i got it cuz trying to find out what parts are interchangeable is a pain if i had the h23 i wouldn't really care. ,y opinion go with h23 if you have the money, if not f22b twin cam is a good choice but be prepared to find out what parts are interchangeable.

i.e.

timing belt = b18c integra gsr or type r belt

alternator = accord alt.(100 autozone) or prelude si alt.(180 autozone)

headers = either accord or prelude not sure yet

cams = h23 cams, same with camgears

thats what i have gathered so far

Thanx for the info man. I've been considering that engine because I want better performance but I have a family and my budget is kind of tight. I was and am still considering a custom turbo but my patience is short. I want a swap and thats the only one I can afford right now. I found a shop in Carolina that had one so I'll probably have it shipped or just take the drive down.
i thought F22B is a 2.2L SOHC VTEC
not DOHC, gotta pic of it?
firing order jdm f22b

last year I installed a jdm f22b in my 91 accord. I had problems with my firing order, after I fixed the problem, the car ran great. Now I seemed to have forgotten my "new" firing order. HELP ME PLEASE!! I have tried the 1-4-3-2 with no luck.
Doesn't the F22 DOHC have about 140hp or so? Does it have more torque? What does it look like? Correct me if im wrong on this. My question is why didn't honda just put the DOHC in the accords. I know two cams is better than one but if it does have the same amount of power as my SOHC F22b1, then i wouldn't do the swap. The H23 is tempting but like he said, you have to know what stuff is interchangeable. Everyone goes for the H22, so i give props to the people who are different and go to different routes. I didn't know the DOHC F22 was growing in popularity. Thats news to me.

it's basically an f22a block and h23 head.

that's my engine bay... yea it's dirty but i'll get it cleaned soon. i have a problem though: my mechanic bypassed the EGR valve and i'm getting a CEL code. when he connects the EGR my car dies upon ignition, but when it's disconnected i get a CEL code and an erratic idle. any ideas?

ohhhhhh ok. So i guess i was wrong about the power ratings. :bh
So if its a F22 block, then why can't i put a H23 head on my F22???? I know it isn't feasible though.

Damn, that is messed up :wow. Find out the solution to the code, what is it by the way. Also why did he bypass the EGR valve anyways?

good question... anyways it's a code 12. i had some help and it's been suggested that i have to switch pins A6 and A11 at the ecu. i'll try that soon.
my baby is back on the road!!

I got my ignition wires right, the right firing order is 1-3-4-2. my problem was after the bearing in my distributor went out, I had switched distributor shafts with an old distrib I had from my old sohc f22a1. everything looked the same, so I thought it would work, right? WRONG!!! the only difference that I found(after two days of cursing hondas) is the hole drilled into the bottom of the shaft for the coupling. big difference! I just redrilled my hole to match the old shaft and she runs again!!
hello accord nation03, I went with the jdm f22b because of the price difference between vtec or nonvtec. I paid $600 for the engine to be delivered to my doorstep. I drove my honda into my garage at 8am and drove out at 8pm! with a huge increase in performance. I did it all by my self, no helpers. All I needed to buy was a new p/s belt and oil! My list of things I wanted (and bought) is a lot longer!

this is a good question..but i'm guessing you have to have a DOHC F22b to even perform an H23 head swap? anyone?
code 12

hello heyitzsushiboi,

I can help you translate the code better than I can help you fix your idle problem, I would need to be in the presence of your fine honda!
code 12: EGR lift sensor malfunction or circuit fault
Didn't you say your mechanic bypassed your egr? I used to do that but only with a carburated engine. I would block the open port in the heads to prevent hot exaust gasses from heating my intake manifold. But with fuel injection, if you screw with the signal to the computer, it might affect ignition timing or fuel pulse width. Which could in turn affect performance!
Here is a pic of mine.

The way u have to look at it is that the head is basically an H23 head so u can use H23 parts for the head. Turbo mani, headers, cams, cam gears, valve adjustments, Intake mani and timing belt are all from H23. I heard u can use GSR timing belt also but i used H23.

Head gasket, pistons, rods, all bottom end stuff will come from regular F22bx. Vtec and non vtec use same head gasket anyway.

Power steering pump will be a lil problem....u need the bracket from a 98 accord to make it fit. Throttle cable is from H23 also.
Thats all i can remember for now. The motor comes with 160 HP from the factory and is a very good candidate for boost. I made 300whp @ 13 psi and 284 torque.

i'll be taking the boost route once i get out of debt. you didn't get to 13 psi on stock internals did u?

No. My motor is fully built.
question- the jdm f22b didnt come with power steering?
help with f22b

i had a question about the f22b dohc. i wanted to know if it has a external or internal coil

thanx
