Yeah it was F'ed up. But the finishing order says it all. This season it will be 1 Ferari, 2 W-BMW, 3 M-M. The exciting part is which driver of each team will do better.
Can't say I'm really complaining since I have been a Ferrari Tifosi since they came back to F1 in the '80's, but it would have been nice to have a whole field race in the opening race of the season .....
If Michael Schumacher was involved in the crash, they would have red flagged it .

Thats what I believe also, that just makes me sick. Even the comentators were shocked.
What a race yesterday!!! The best part was Schumacher vs Montoya, just great fight...

The race should be red flag IMO as well, carnage and oil was on the track, but it's the track offical decision of which flag to throw out however!
Agreed it should've been red flagged and I alos agree that if M.Schumi was involved it would've been red flagged. But that was something else to watch half the field get taken out in the first corner. I'm a huge Williams fan but I even had to ask what the hell was Ralf looking at that he did not see Rubens directly infront of him. I'm happy with Montoya's finish I do belive the top three of the race will be how it ends in the championship at the end of the season although I hope Montoya is ahead of Michael. Does anybody think that Renault has a chance at any podiums this year? Trulli looked pretty strong in second until he spun out and lost it.
Renault has some hp, that's for sure ...... but you have to remember that Ferrari hasn't even unleashed their 2002 car yet ...... ;)
I think Toyota is quite good it considering that it is their first year... I guarantee that they won't be last this year.

No way will they be last they have to good drivers and one of the most powerful cars in the circut. The battle for last will be between Arrows, and Minardi(congrats to Webber for scoring the teams first points in 3 years,I think thats how long they said its been.) and I think Sauber might be down there with them.

I was gonna say that but I was afraid to get hammer by people who don't agree with me... didn't they have one of the fastest straight line speed at the Melbourne front straight? I think they have one of the more powerful engine (notice I use more instead of most) in F1.
Renault has power, but not too much! However, rumors now is that the Toyota's powerplant has just as much or even slightly more hp then the Ferrari, just 20hp down by the BMW's 870hp. Last year, our Honda engine was 3rd, actually has more hp then the Mercedes, this year don't know yet! However the current Honda engine were said to be not full spec because of reliability!

I was surprised to hear them talking about how McLaren has one of the lower hp engines this year. BMW of course has the most power then they are followed by Ferrari,Toyota,Jaguar all close behind. I hope Honda gets their engine up to spec quickly so they can be more competive.
it just shows that it takes more than just a powerful engine to win...

Amen to that. I don't care if the car has 900+hp if you can't drive and the car doesn't handle then your screwed.
