Moonroof install on 1992 vx hatch

Ok peeps I need some help with figuring out how moonroof is installed, I have searched google, yahoo, repair manual with no luck. If someone knows how its properly installed it would help out alot. Now my car has a sunroof, not sure if its a factory piece or not and since my glass flew off driving down the road figured its time to upgrade. Do the EG hatches all come with mounts\studs\spot welded nuts? I have the wiring diagram already just looking for some insight from an experienced civic owner. Any help is appricated. Thanks in advance I will make sure I do a write up on how it goes.

I have no Idea how to start neither, Have a integra with a sunroof hoping to figure out how to install it into my 92 hatch. Dont know if its even worth it
Yeah its pretty much dead but i'm hoping that when I get it installed it will actually help someone out since there isn't crap on the net about it. But don't get your hopes up that it will be done soon because I have the motor to install first but I will post everything I encounter on the way.
im in the process of figuring out how to swap the glass roof from the 91 civic si for the body matched metal one on my crx.... i want my crx to have the same sunroof haha. but so far i cant find shit about it. all i find is the damn glass roof conversion which would be cool if i had the 1500$ laying around
the best way for the 93 civic is to swap roof skins so it will seal correctly. the other option is swap in manual type(flip up).

slow eh2:
for you i think you would be better off pull out the metal and go down to a glass shop the can cut to size but you want it to be tempered. the one out of the 91 si, is a differnt type if i remember correctly the crx slides out and on top of the roof where as the civic hatch slides in side the roof skin.

yeah it is different... thats why i said im trying to figure it out. but im not making any cuts until im 100% positive on what im doing lol
Well I was thinking of cutting off a junk of another hatch's roof but its more cutting and welding then i'd like to do for a daily driver. But I know I'll be cutting a larger hole for the moonroof and possibly welding mounts for it also. Did I mention I hate sunroofs! lol but the ladies seem to enjoy them alot, and I hate ac also so a moonroof is a better option for now. If anyone has A hatch with a moonroof or even a coupe or sedan could you post a roof pic to show how it seals agianst the roof and seal on the m.r. I wanna know if there is a metal or some other trim piece that goes between it. My repair manual show nothing on the instal/disassembly of the moonroof or sunroof besides the wiring diagram. Any Info on the eg chassis for sunroof/moonroof would be greatly appricated. Anyone a fan of carbonfiber roof caps? The Evo 8-9 can actually swap the alum roof for a carbon piece which is fucking awesome to me but the roofcaps that I found just sit on top of the metal which is for looks not performance. I was thinking of just laying carbon on the patch panel if I closed the hole to cover it so I didn't have to paint it.

Twister was right just so everybody knows don't try this without have the entire roof if your swapping a moonroof. Anyone with a moonroof looking for a new one? Looks like I'm cutting and patching which is ok cause I hate moonroofs\sunroofs.
many people don't like sunroof, but i love it, it's cool when in hot days, mine is factory installed.
So anybody looking for a moonroof?
you want to sell yours? why not ask the dealer for installation help?
Dude, Im gonna get my car running again soon (fucking fuel pumps)

Maybe I should come up and install it for ya :lol

But seriously, pull the headliner out and take a look, post a few pics, etc... Im sure honda didnt take the time to glue everything in, Worst case if you undo everything you gotta run a small bead of silicone around the edges, which if you use a spoon's curved back, can be made smooth as the metal.
Or I might buy your old roof frame for the glass and make my targa top a GLASS targa top :clappy :clappy :clappy :clappy
The problem isn't installing it its getting it to seal since the factory rolls the roof down 90 degrees and that is what it seals too.
