Hi all,

Just a quick question.
How many of you out there are using an engine oil other than the OEM Honda oil??
And if so what weight are u using??

Also the same with Brake Fluid as well......

oem brake fluid, but I'm using Royal Purple - Racing #21 oil.

I used Honda 5/30 oil till 12,000 miles then switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic 5/30.

All other fluids are OEM.

I've used Mobile 1 Synthetic 5W30 for about 11k miles (since about 14k miles when I got it). Very pleased with it, and I change it quite frequently.

*edit* oh yea, and ATE super blue brake fluid, Honda MTF, and Spoon wiper fluid

I use amsoil very happy with it.

At the moment using factory brake fluid, but have a bottle of Motul RBF 600 ready to go in.

Mostly any synthetic oil is good, except Castrol (i just dont like it!). Mobil 1 & BP Vervis are my picks

using Mobil 1 5W-50 and OEM brake fluid gonna upgrade to Motul 600 soon!

NEO is good oil. but you gonna shell out like close to $10 a quart.
but its really good though. well worth it.

Engine on both: Mobil 1 5w30 since 12,000 miles or so (fourth oil change)

Tranny on both: Mobil 1 75w90 gear oil since 15,000 miles (severe maintenance shedule)

I find that if I use Mobil 1 synth. my motor burns it up so fast!
I switched to regular convetional oil and the car seems to run a lot smoother.Best of all when I pull the dipstick the oil level is right!!
I didnt really see any difference in gas milage as It sucks gas no matter what.
I just look at it this way the only thing synth oil does for an engine is last longer as far as breaking point.I change my oil so offten it really doesnt matter if it synth or regular Oil is Oil.

Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 0w-40.

I use the Mobil 1 - Tri-Synthetic 0w-40 in both the engine and tranny. I've been using this since 10,000 Kms in the motor and the Tranny at 20,000. Never had a problem. I did over 260 Kms at the track last weekend, I kept checking the oil, but it didn't use ANY!!! The cars going in for it's 40,000 Kms service soon, it's done about 37,500 so far.

It's not easy to get a hold of this oil...... but it's great stuff. Abit expensive. As a test, Mobil got a M3 BMW put 1 million (miles?? KMS??) and pulled the motor apart, messured the parts, they were still within manufacturers Spec's. No wear, that'll do me.

Mobil agents selling this oil in nothing smaller than 20Litre drums.
