Any one running a Mugen ecu? It sounds sweet! Is it worth it though if your motor is not fully built up(cams, cam gears, what not) The down side is $1300.00! Any thoughts? Thanks alot!

you can get the same results with an obd1 conversion and mugen chip for under $300.

I had a real mugen ecu in my car for a little while and noticed some change, but no worth the cost unless you are a serious all motor freak.

I agree with MugenSi00. MUGEN ECU runs very rich, meant for racing and is rich as a safety measure to avoid detonation. You can get a chipped ECU (remove rev limiter etc.) and a VAFC to adjust VTEC crossover and fuel maps. Do your research before buying any ECU. You wanna tailor make it for your specific setup. I think getting an ECU before your mods would hurt you. Also dyno tuning will be the key to all your tuning. Good luck.

Hell for $1300 you could get a stand alone fuel computer like the EFI PMS system I Have... or even the new AEM one. You could get a lot more out of your car this way, then with any chiped ECU you buy.

Peace
