hmm, funny thing about that misconception. I went from a 198* thermostat to a 160* thermostat in my suburban. Well I'll be damned, maybe I'm just halucinating but the engine in my truck runs a hell of a lot cooler. It hasn't even come close to the 195 it used to stay at. I drove it from Georgia to Vermont and it never went up 195* and that is a hell of a lot of driving. Maybe it is all a trick and a lower thermostat really just modifies the gauge.
