why get rid of 17's and get 15's??
you get much better handling and grip with 17's
plus it looks better than with 15's.

his accelartion is much slower than it would be with 15's
well that is not entirely true. its a matter of weight and traction.
so if you have a 15" si stock wheel that weighs like 16lbs
and a 17" rim that weighs 16lbs or less i dont see whats better in having 15's since the 17's is lighter and you get more traction.

it's not just weight, it's the force you have to apply to move that weight.

assume that the 17" wheels weigh the same, the width is the same, and the tire itself weighs the same.

the 17" will still run MUCH slower than the 15" b/c the weight is concentrated FARTHER from the center of the wheel. That means it takes more force to accelerate it.

in reality, the 17" wheel is also wider, and the tire is heavier as a result, so the effect is amplified even more.

yea he bought the car and it had those rims on it....he is looking for a set of stock si or gsr rims

huh, ill sell him my si rims, for 2000 bucks, ones curbed, and theres basically no tred left on the tires because ive been using those wheels on my winter car. but maybe, just maybe if you save them for a really long time, they'll be worth some money one day, just like that baseball card you lost under the couch 23 years ago. :D
