Alright, I am having to have the engine short block replaced, and I am going to try and get forged pistons and such... I am running a supercharged application and the stock pistons and rings lasted maybe 7500 miles. I need your help!! I don't know anything about this portion of tuning, and am wondering what are the name brands that work with the D series engines and if you could can you send me some links??? I appreciate your help!!!

I think you need a lower compression piston try SRP pistons they are the same as JE but they aren't polished where the wristpin connects so they are cheaper but same qaulity or Summit racing carries Arias pistons . Try www.raceeng.com. Try lower heat range sparkplugs such as Zex. Retard your ignition timing. And check your air/fuel ratio with 6 pounds of boost you shouldn't have screwed your engine up so bad. Also get some connecting rods try Eagle they are really good, since you have the engine in pieces work on the head get a Zex cam. They emphasize on duration so you get good exhaust scavenging. I heard that you should stay away from Crower i read on some sites where there cams have broke. Plus they are expensive.

Actually, I was doing some research on SOHC cams a while ago, and IIRC, the Zex cam and the Crower cam are the EXACT same part.

They even have the same part number.

NO NO NO

I believe you are mistaking the Zex cam and the COMP CAMS cam. They both have part #59300. COMP CAMS makes the cam for Zex.

Crower has 3 stages of D16 cam - they are part #6344X (X=0,1,2,3). The Crower and zex cams are very very different. Don't be disleading people.
Groundcontrol you are correct. Compcam grinds the cams for Zex. They have the same address too pretty crazy huh? LOL. Have you heard anything bad about the crower cams I was under the impression they were top notch until i was in another site and there where some Teg owners really complaining about the parts. I notice Crower cams emphasized more on lift whereas the Zex was more duration. Which is better for NA applications?
Ah. That's it.

I knew it was one of those C cam companies.

My bad.
How did you end up screwing up your engine with only 6psi??
tech said it most likely wasnt because of the supercharger, but the install of it... the people i had install it, took over a month and did some funky shit to my car. I am just now feeling the results of their stupidity in full effect, but he said that was the case, the supercharger just advanced the problem.
