I have a 94 honda civic ex...
I was wondering if I put 225/40/18 tires how much can I lower it?
If I get 205/40/17 will I be able to lower it more? Which would look better after its lowered 17" or 18"?

Thanks

Of the two, 17s will look better. But please, consider this:

Don't go overboard, 15s still look really good and are significantly lighter than 17s. You don't want heavy wheels, it defeats the entire purpose of BUYING them. If you get 17s or 18s your car will look like crap and you can't drop it nearly as low.

15 inches for go
16 inches for show

No bigger than 16. Buying 17 or larger is counter productive for a Civic in every possible way.

with the 18's your gonna rub when you turn. so don't get them

17's you can get by with 215/40/17 tires. but only about 2" drop at most before it becomes an issue

i have 17''s on my car and i dont think it loks like to much. i would not reccomend anything over 17'' on a civic. 17''s would look nice if u dropped it right.

Also because you have a body kit.. 17s with oem bumpers and sides look terrible.. trust me, my car came that way.

I agree with 16 for show, 15 for go. Having 18 inch wheels on a Civic is like having ridiculously baggy pants on a 98-pound, 15 year-old suburban thug.
