Can somebody help me figure out which engine i have for a 1990 prelude? VIN is JHMBA4210LC009334. It has a SI emblem on the car. I am trying to determine which engine i have to order parts. I see d910170052 - i believe that is the tranny. Otherwise i see HM

This should totally be a sticky on our forum, but

http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-articles/decoding-vin-numbers-29059/

JHMBA4210LC009334

J = Made in Japan
H = Honda Motor Company
M = Passenger car build in Japan
BA4 = Honda Prelude, 2.0/2.1L
2 = 2 Door coupe, Automatic
1 = 2.0S Prelude
0 = Actually it doesn't look like there is relevance to this one...
L = 1990
C = Manufactured in Sayama, Japan
009334 = Prelude #9,334 off the line that year

So now that you know EVERYTHING about your car... lol

It looks like he has a B20 in there. You could have looked at your block too though as mentioned above...

[Edit: As mentioned before, if you have carbs vs. PGM-FI then you should probably specify when ordering parts.]
