ok heres the deal. i got about 4g coming my way i have a 99 si want to go all motor and shoot the juice instaed of f/i. but with all motor one needs the proper bolt ons. so i was thinking of cai, header, exhaust, pulleys, cam gears, aem fuel rail, pressure guage, bigger injectors(i could use the stock injecters specs-like are they 180cc or something)and a venturi plate. i can put all these on myself with a little time. but would i need to reset the ecu. i dont want my car to freak out and have the check engine lights come on and cause my car not to work. later after i get more money i gonna stoke the engine and a whole new head job. i know its a long post but any suggestions about the ecu particularly.:D :D :D :D

I'm not really sure exactly what your trying to ask here????

As far as your ecu goes...OBD 2 will automatically adjust for the new changes.

Try to be more specific in what your asking.

Depending on you mods you may want to look into the Apexi vafc, this will allow you to adjust your vtec, and your a/f. Your best bet is after you get all your mods, to get your car dyno tuned. It can get a tad bit costly, but it will be well worth it.

Your ecu will always re-adjust however, if you have more than I/H/E it is a good idea to get the vafc (or any controller) to compensate for the mods.
Personally if I had 4,000, I would go the turbo route, imo you will get more of a power gain than you will with messing with all the bolt-ons.

all motor

no i also plan to storke the engine to a 1.8 giving me more torque and hp.i plalso plan to port match the whole head with a nice polish and i hear crower makes a good set of all motor cams for the b16.of course there will also be sprins retainers and thigs of that sort also. but i think it is best of to start off with the little things.

That's alot of money for not alot of go.

I/H/E shouldn't cost you more than a grand. Much less if you take your car to a reputable exhaust guy and have them do the pipeing to the muffler of your choice.

You'll probably want to get a better intake manifold and throttle body (skunk makes a good intake) and Spoon makes one of the larger throttle bodies on the market (70mm). So there goes another grand (not quite the spoon goes for around $600 and $300 for a skunk intake manifold).

If you're gonna play around with your fuel then just get a regulator and injectors. Your stock rail and filter work just fine (unless you want the show quality of the AEM product, I did). You should also get a Hondata Stage 2 at this point and have it tuned. About another grand spent here.

Now you should get some cam gears and cams and have them installed. I wouldn't recommend you do this unless you have the proper tools and experience. So lets just say that eats another grand.

Now you've got some power. Probably 180 to the wheel but don't quote me on that. It varies with the tuneing and products choosen. But for 4G you could have got a Greddy kit with intercooler and possibly a Hondata Stage 2 with boost. You'd have around 220 to the wheel and since you want to do internals anyway, you could then get some Probe Industries rods and lower compression pistons. Just my two cents. Good luck.

Wish I had $4k. :(

ive seen the crower street strip cams ad 18 horses to the wheels with just i/h/e. yes i thought about the greddy kit and contacted greedy, they guaranteed at least 230 to the wheel if instaled properly with their intercooler.
