I have an old accord sitting in my drive way. I want to make it a sleeper. It is a 1988 accord lxi hatchback. I've been searching for a place to buy a engine, but I can't find a place to get parts for a car so old?

You might want to keep looking. There are plenty of people that race older Accords in SCCA Club racing. From what I have heard, they do pretty well too! Another thing you may want to look into is using the Prelude Si engine of the same year as a donor.

It will be really hard finding aftermarket parts for that car. However, if you really want to modify it, you might have to fabricated the parts yourself.
