I am looking for a somewhat loud "growly" muffler, the kind you see and hear the most (the most popular on hondas/acuras).
I am only getting a muffler, no other mods.

Magnaflow?
Borla?
RSR?
5Zigen?
Apexi?
Dynomax?
Greddy?
Flowmaster?
any others not listed, please let me know which one(s) will sound like that.

thats a axle back, he said he wants a muffler with no mods...and i have a hard time thinking that it would have a big enough tip for him if he wants a loud growly muffler and doesnt want any other mods for his car and he wants the one most popular for hondas/acuras and the spoon isnt. pricey too, most people into buying mufflers alone are into spending hundreds on them.

Warning: If you want your car to perform well do not take the following advise! This advise is only for the rice of heart!

Two options:
1. Go to Pepboys. They are starting to sell (cheap) aftermarket parts. Get one of the obnoxiously large mufflers there.

2. Jack up your car from the rear. Do this after it's cool or you could get burned. Using a power drill cut four or five wedges out of the b-pipe. The wedges should measure about 3/4" at their largest opening and extend into the pipe about an inch or so. This will not aid in performanace, but the result is an exhaust loud enough to make all the cops in your neighborhood take notice.

Any straight through can style muffler is going to be loud and growly for obvious reasons. Just find a cheap one of those if that's what you're looking for. OBX makes them cheap, Arospeed. Any of the Tanabe RM replicas will do for your case I think. Good luck

1. I want the MOST negative Police attention.

2. I want to be laughed at by my import enthusiest peers.

3. I want NOT to be able to think when taking a drive for whatever length."but, then again you probably weren't thinking when you posted this anyway.

4. I want something that will drown out my stereo and it's Mad Thumpin Bass.

5. I want to be laughed at by almost everyone else on the road, "similar to #2."

6. I want to get a mod that will be minimally beneficial performance wise for my car but, have maximum annoyance factor.

7. I want to ONLY impress the other Stunnaz.

8. I want all the dogs in the neighboorhood to howl madly when I drive by, "also related to #2, and #5."

9. I want something that WILL classify myself as the R*c* word.

And finally the tenth thing you should have posted instead of I want a loud growly muffler;

10. Screw grapes, I want to fit a GRAPEFRUIT in my tailpipe!

Get an intake, you'll be happier. You'll hear something and maybe even gain a few ponies...

Hehe funny, kinda mean, but funny. Anyhow, yeah an intake makes a nice sound too, and its much easier to install then an exhuast. A short ram would make a noticeable sound, but an AEM CAI makes a nice sound too in the higher rpms. But if you looking for a lower growl, then a short ram would probably be good as it is cheaper, and you can install that yourself with ease.

Here's another idea I thought of:

1. Remove your O2 Sensor.
2. Bash it with a sledge hammer.
3. Re-Install it.
4. Because the O2 sensor will malfunction the car will run very rich.
5. After about six months the water inside your exhaust will start the metal to rust through.
6. Do not repair exhaust.

This makes a nice loud roar. Yeah Pete, but how are the highs? The rusted metal will vibrate againts itself causing mind-numbing tinney vibration sounds. You get the full package at no cost!! I speak from experience, this happenned to my car and all the cops started to take notice that I was the new loud kid in town.

Buy a cheap cherry bomb muffler or something that looks like crap to enhance the way it is going to sound.

I just got a new exhaust (5Zigen fireball) so I have a GReddy SP axleback section to sell. It noticeably changes the exhaust note of the car and is easier to install than a weld-on, all you do is disconnect the bolts holding that section of the exhaust and bolt back up the GReddy. Its cheaper than a catback, has a nice good looking tip, and a good sound. Im getting rid of it because the resonator (in the midpipe section) is bad, but I drove around for 2 weeks with the stock piping and the GReddy axleback, so I have tested it out and it sounds almost the same as a catback.

heres an idea just cut you exhaust off at the header, then cut a large hole in your hood and flip the header up so it pokes out of your hood, it will be loud as hell.
