need new tires

what's up everyone. i guess the time has come for me to shop for my tires for my ride. can you guys give me some honest suggestion as to what are good tires out there? my stock ones are wearing out and i was told they will continue to wear even though the alligment has been fixed. the alignment shop's recommendation was purchase new tires and that it would settle my problem. my drivers side front is basically bald on the inside. im still going to use the stock Si rims. so what do you guys think will be a good fit for my ride? thanks!

A lot of people are running Kumho 712's (I had them on my Si), they offer good bang for the buck. Falken Azenis are also a good, inexpensive tire. If you have the $$$, Bridgestone SO3's are probably one of the best dry/wet tires you can get.

The syock XGTs suck, and you will truely realize that when you get good tires. I got Bridgestone Potenza RE-730 205/55. I love them to death. Paid $97 a tire, good price. Awsome in rain as well, better than XGTs even in rain. Get them you will not regret it, as long as I have 15s on my Si that is the exact size and tire I will always get.

I literally just bought Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position for $79 a tire from www.tirerack.com . The size I got were 205/50/15. Tirerack rates this tire really well. Look there for the ratings. It helped me a lot.

so was the alignment guy correct about the wearing situation? even though the alignment has been adjusted, will my stock tires continue to wear? and the fix is a new set of tires?

also, did you guys just completely swap out all 4 tires? or did you do 2 different ones? i've seen that people one set in the front and another set in the rear? what should i do? thanks/1

forgot to add... how much psi do you put into these tires? im going to be riding on the stock dimensions. 195/55-15 i think it is. thanks!

that is an amazing price for those tires.

blacisi00: if your tires are bald on the inside, then youre going to need new tires, even if youre alignment is fixed. i had the same problem, i lowered my car without getting an alignment and i chorded a pair of Bridgestone RE730's. i moved up the line and bought a pair of S03's and got an alignment, and i havent noticed any unusual wearing yet. You should try to have the same tires in the front as you do it the back, but nothing is going to happen if you dont. i would always reccommend putting the better tires in the front.

as for what tire to get, it all depends on what your needs are. if you need a tire thats going to be good in the rain, how you want your tire to perform, do you autocross? ETC. right now the S03's are argueably the best street tires on the market right now but they are a little pricey. i paid $126/tire for my 16's so if you can get 15's for $79.... id jump on that. Falken Azenis are very popular autocrossing tire, due to the fact that their treadwear is overrated. if you want to settle for something thats decent but not the best, id reccommend Bridgestone RE730's like someone else previously said.

tire pressure?

thanks for the info guys. just wanted to know what would you guys recommend as far as how much air to put in the tires? should i just follow what it says on the tires? for the front and rear one is lower than the other right (that's how the stocks are made to be). what do you guys usually put? im going to ride on the stock dimensions of the car (195/55-15). thanks!
