I have had my sol for a week now...and i am still learning how to drive it...this is like the first time that i have ever driven stick...and well i guess im really not all that good at it...my shifting is less than smooth....and i dont know if i quite grasp the whole downshifting thing....so when you guys first started driving stick what problems did you run into and how do you over-come them? Does it just take time to get the feel of the car...man i hope so

Just practice, the more you drive the more smoother you get. let out clutch slower. i can shift smoother than automatic tranny's, barely feel it.

yea same here omega, not to brag but i'm the smoothest shifter i've ever known, it was like the one thing my whole life that has come completely natural to me, i sat in my very first 5-speed car and it was like i already knew... pretty much like omega said you just practice and you'll get better, but i have a friend thats been driving stick for maybe 8 months and he really hasn't gotten any better than the first week he started
