Hey yall
i installed my indiglo gauges and have prbms with my needle stuck on the speedometer gauge.. I was pissed since i had to take it apart 3 times to get it working. What i did was used the sandpaper to rub the end of needle so it wont get stuck on the gauge and tried it out. It got stuck again!! Then i looked at the needles and compared it with other needles (RPM, Gas). I noticed that those 2 needles are higher than the speed needle. So i thought about raising the needle and wasnt sure if i needed to do that. Will it cause prbms if i raise the needle up? Will it come off? Let me know.. Im getting frustrated with that ^&(*!

You can use a little pry bar (very small) to lift the needles just enough so they don't rub the gauge face. Be careful that you must lift them slowly and gently, otherwise, they'll come off and you'll have to recalibrate them. Recalibration is a major pain in the butt as I learned when I installed my NRAuto white face gauge (you have to remove the needles).

I DID lift it up and now it wont stay up.. it just slides down to the bottom any other way?

It's not hard, but you need to precision and patience when you do it:

- Gas gauge -> easy, fill up your tank all the way up and place the needle pegged at the top.
- Coolant temp gauge -> easy, when the engine is cold, place the needle pegged at the bottom. Or, you can record warm engine temp before you take the needle off, then place at the same position when the engine is warm again after the new gauge is installed.
- Speedo -> this is the trickiest one. At standstill, place it so that the needle lightly touches the little peg that's at the very bottom left side of the sweep. Take it for a drive. If you notice that the needle goes up only after you are at a certain speed, then you place it too low. Lift it again and place it down. Another way to do it is to have a friend with the same car with you driving at 20 or 30mph, then promptly place the needle back while you are moving. Dangerous, but it works. The last way would be to find one of those speed trap signs that tells you your speed. Mine is only about 3mph off, which is not bad considering manual calibration.
- Tach -> easy. Idle rpm for a warm engine is 680rpm, just below the 750rpm line. You'll never get this one exactly correct, so get it as close as you can. Mine is just a tad off.
