Nintendo: Better Wii Storage Solution Coming Soon
Reggie Fils-Aime says that Nintendo is working on a "better way to store the games" on Wii but that may or may not lead to a hard drive.

With the Virtual Console and WiiWare channels offering Wii owners a growing library of titles to download, space on the Wii's paltry 512 MB of built-in flash memory is starting to become a problem for more active downloaders. While Wii owners also have the option of using separate SD cards, many have been clamoring for a Wii hard drive. Now, in a new interview Latin America's official Nintendo magazine Club Nintendo (as translated by Nintendo Everything), Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that Nintendo is pursuing a solution, but it might not be a hard drive.

"We are working on a storage solution and it is especially important in America because our consumers are using Wii Points for the Virtual Console and WiiWare. I want the people to have the right expectations; We have never said that it will be a hard drive nor have we mentioned how we will fix this issue, but we are going to deliver a better way to store the games," he said. Club Nintendo also spoke to Shigeru Miyamoto, who said that an announcement regarding storage should be expected in the future and that Nintendo is currently researching different technologies.

Miyamoto also mentioned that another Zelda game is in development for Wii but they're not ready to unveil it yet. He also commented that we shouldn't expect too many more separate peripherals for the Wii.
