I have a cousin who says he got his at a W-M yesterday. I'm assuming it's not an imported version.

BTW: W-M's online store has them listed as being "in stock".

Nintendo DS Lite street date broken at retail

Retailer offers Nintendo DS Lite bundles

Reports have begun to emerge that consumers have been able to purchase new Nintendo DS Lite hardware at select Target and Wal-Mart locations ahead of the handheld's June 11 release.

The Nintendo DS Lite is the follow-up to the successful Nintendo DS. It is 2/3 the size of the original and includes a brighter screen.

It is not uncommon for retail employees to be unaware of official release dates and can result in selling hardware or software in advance of its official release date.

The Nintendo DS Lite currently outsells the PSP, PS2, and Xbox 360 video game systems in Japan on unconventional software offerings and broad appeal.

Nintendo will include the new Touch Generations brand on casual DS game offerings like Big Brain Academy, Magnetica, and Sudoku Gridmaster.
