was at the shop that I work at and a guy brought in his 95 GS300. When I saw the car I was like...wat ever its only a stock GS...than he showed off his motor to all of us at the shop... twin turbo Supra motor, and for those of you who don't know much about the GS it comes with the non-turbo supra motor. He had a full HKS turbo upgrade...running him a total of 15,000 for the motor and the upgrades. He took us for a ride....within a little more of a quarter mile he hit 125 with 5 people in the car!!!

When we got back to the shop...he told us that he got it dyno at 550whp! on top of that its a FREAKIN AUTO!!! so there is some hope for an auto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are alot of people w/ over 500rwhp on the supra tt auto trannies w/ some bulletproofing done. those trannies are a hell of a lot better than ours are though, theirs are actually quicker than the manual. but that car would be a hell of a sleeper, tho.

Yeap that's why if I'm goin' to build a luxury fast car, I'm goin' to get an used GS300 and go FI with it (either TC or SC)!
yeah there's a viper beating, hayabusa eating, RX-7 Spanking 9 second SC300 in texas that's running almost 800rWHp  I posted pics of it a while ago. I'm not sure which years of lexus used the 2JZ-GE but it's a strong platform. There's several NA cars that get some pretty decent poop, the IS300 uses the mythical block but barely shits out enoug poop to impress even the meakest of fast car fans. It would be a pretty easy from from what I can tell. You could leave the tranny and just change the motor(from what I've heard you han't just swap the head and add the turbos, there's subtle differences in the GE and GTE), swap ECU's, and wiring harness and you should be all set.

if you want to see a real meat eating lexus, go to yahoo and search SC300TT, and then hunt through the first three findings for viper rx7 catchup mpeg. that's what fast is all about.

So he had a 2JZ-GE and dropped in a GTE? or he installed a turbo ocnversion kit?? The difference is a few thousand bucks less and a lot less headaches with just buying a crate 2JZ-GTE.
SC300TT (Clint Pohler) had a 2JZ-GTE dropped in his Lexus in place of the GE motor.

2JZ-GTE: Iron block, Iron head
2JZ-GE: Iron block, Aluminum head.

The GTE motor is obviously setup for boost from the start, but the GE version is still pretty beefy and able to handle good amounts of boost also.

His web page is out of date - I have a dyno video of his car putting down like 765 rwhp or something crazy!! And yeah, that "LexusCatchup.mpg" video is pretty crazy too!

Go there. This guy imported this. Its a soarer(sc300) with stock TT. Beautiful. My friend was telling me all about it. He's in AZ
wow...that car is beautiful, except for the...

auto tranny

my next car will be anything with a 2jz-ge !!! hell there all rear wheel drive and there is much experience fortifying the transmission . i keep telling everybody if you wanna put up huge number's this family of engine's is the way to go!!!!400-500-600+ whp the only limiting factor is your wallet!!!! hell the biggest problem with these car's is traction !!! 2jz-ge/2jz-gte.
there's a couple of place's that will swap a supra motor(2jz-gte)into your new IS300 for $20,000 it sound's like alot but for $50,000 you will EAT ALIVE VIRTUALLY ANY CAR YOU GO UP AGAINST!!!(ALA SUPRA VS. FERRARI IN F&F) and that in reality is a bargain.;) :p :D
THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS I FEEL ALL WARM AND TINGLY INSIDE :D

Ain't it Funny ...

It's funny that this thread popped up today. I had this lady come in today complaining about a burning smell from her car, and it was a SC 300 with a 5-Speed. She needed a clutch, and asked her is she just wanted to sell it (I've been looking for one of these). She said she wouldn't sell it unless Lexus made another Coupe with a manual tranny, so I pointed her in the direction of our new car lot were the manual IS's were. Unfortunately she wanted a 2 door.

I'd love to have this car. The 6 Cylinder coupes with a manual are a ton of fun to drive. The drift around corners so nicely that my face hurts from smiling so hard. :D I could loose my mind trying to think of ways to make this car go faster. Hopefully when and if the IS's come out with the 2 Door version she'll trade! Then I can ride around listening to the blow off valves going ... Psssssfffft!!!!

haha good wasnt sure because u didnt put a smiley after it... :)
It does have the Supra N/A engine (2JZ-GE)! The Supra turbo has the 2JZ-GTE engine!
get an Lexus IS 300. those also have a 2jz-ge engine. plus, you can swap a 2jz-gte into them, too. or just fi it then swap the tranny for the getrag six speed.
GS300 is a much better car! I don't like the IS300 'cauze it's too small for me! IT's as small as the Civic or Corolla! Another reason is I don't like Altezza taillights even though they are the original! :D
Man all talk about the 2jz-gte makes me want to get rid of my accord for something more promising in power
