Whats up guys? This is wats up i have a kid in my school with a 95 accord v6 and is trying to tell everyone he is going to put a NSX engine in his car. Every person tries to tell him it is not going to happen but he doesn't listen. Please help me out. He tells me to ask a real mechanic, he says go to any shop and they'll tell u it can be done. Please tell him he is wrong and he might be right but if he is the price would be so outragous its pointless.

ummm the acura nsx is RWD, and a Honda accord is FWD. Tell him that and he'll shut up
he says u can conv. the car to be real wheel drive
Anything can be done with enough money. But with the amount of money he'd spend on all of the custom fabrication he'd need to do it would have been cheaper to just buy a used NSX! :laff:

The obstacles are endless.
I tried telling him that but he won't listen I need stats or something more.
NSX V6

I'm not sure if the NSX engine would fit in a 95 Accord, but it would might fit in a 98 + Accord. Even though the NSX is rear wheel drive, the engine and tranny is transverse mounted like the Accord. With the DOHC heads, and the variable intake manifold, it might be wider and taller than our SOHC V6 engines. The blocks may be some what similiar ... so it might fit with modifactions of course.

He is beyond hope then. Just let him figure it out the hard way for himself. Hopefully he won't have spend too much money by then...
wouldn't the hp and torque rip the accord tranny to shreds.
MAN I DONT EVEN TALK CAR'S WITH 99% OF THE PEOPLE I RUN INTO THIS IS WHY!! :p

Torque no. 8000 rpm yes.

Don't say anything else to him; get back to him in 3 years and then ask him, 'Oh yeah, whatever happened to your RWD NSX powered Accord?!?' :laff:

i wish, he comes up to me every day and starts talking out of his ass

then knock him on it! :p :laff:
just a side note, isn't the accord v6 back then a C27 while the NSX is a C32? so couldn't it be kinda possible in some twisted (& expensive) way if its the same block?

Even it's the same C block but they might not oriented the same way! I don't know if you could even fit a C32 (2gen Legend) engine (FWD) in the 5gen AV6!
with all the work, might as well get an used nsx
just wondering ... what are the chances of finding a scrapped NSX to rip an engine from? if there is an engine available ... do you really think "some kid at school" has a shot of getting it?

also ... i agree with everyone here ... 8000 rpms would tear the hell out of your tranny ... unless he wanted to change that to an NSX one as well.

:D
Ok this is an old ass thread but i came across this in searching google.. IT IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE to put the NSX motor in the 94-97 accord SEDAN's 4cyl or V6 it dont matter as long as its a sedan..This requires purchasing an NSX.. Everything, i mean everything would have to be custom made for the accord... One.. You would have to swap the NSX motor AND tranny (Who would want an AT NSX.. even though they made them thats just stupid)...

So you pull the newer 3.2 (you could do the older 3.0 5 speed MT but the 3.2 has the 6 speed MT) motor and tranny and the ECU and all electrical/mechanical components out of the NSX..
Convert your car to a 2 door, 2 seater sedan, convert your back window and trunk lid to open as a hatch, remove the back seats/trunk area/gas tank/exhaust and completely and start customizing your new suspension/motor mounts.
There's a ton of room in the sedan (front seats to bumper) to move the motor around to aline for your new axles/suspension to line up with the accords rear wheel location.. after all suspension/alignment work is done, remove all of the old transmission linkage and begin work on runnin all the linkage for your new 6spd MT (which also may require customizing your center console for alignment and will require the clutch/brake pedals and the NSX ignition and probably some floorboard work..Somewhere in there you will have to make custom exhaust/headers to fit with the accords underbody exhaust structure and relocate your gas tank..
Then begin removal of the old motor. afterwards run your nessesary vaccumm lines to all nessesary points (ex: brake booster) and your radiator hoses back to the new motor (Requires custom work) and relocate your battery if you want. Once all normal engine wiring/components are hooked back up, then rebuild your front suspension to the same suspension that RWD cars have (not exactly sure how its set up or how to convert the FWD front suspension over to the RWD Front suspension)..
After all that work then decide if you want to build a custom front trunk.. That should be about the jist of things (Yes there is a lot of little stuff i didnt add that needs to be done but thats all decided and handled when doing the conversion..

This is my ulitmate goal for my accord.. and i will only attemp this goal if i win the lottery.. and this conversion would only be for the straight up fact of having a very very unique accord that is also the ultimate sleeper if you can pull it off.. remember.. You can do ANYTHING to a car if you got enough money.. and im guesstimating this project would cost around $150,000 (around $50k to buy a used NSX) and around $100k in pure body work/labor..and as far as i know Nobody has even attempted to try this.. also with the motorless NSX now in your possesion you can part it out or do whatever you like.. I like this conversion idea because the only part of the NSX i like really is the MT and DOHC VTEC V6 that can also be turbo'd..

Edit* i also forgot you have to convert the accord dash to fit the housing for the speedo cluster

Because its transverse in the NSX you could use the NSX manual 6spd tranny i suppose
