Ok my buddy owns a 1997 Honda Civic EX Sedan. Now this is the Canadian EX Sedan so it's a SOHC non VTEC. He has this idea to swap out his existing head, and replace it with the EX/Si head. Now first off is this a possible swap? And secondly, by doing this would he then gain VTEC? Making his car a SOHC VTEC like the American EX, and the Canadian Si. I have doubts that just doing that would enable his car to have VTEC. So please someone clue me in. BTW his engine is the same one that is in my 1999 Honda Civic DX if that helps my wierd explaination out.

i think head swap + ecu should do it. . .

Yes its possible. Its usually called the mini-me. you just need to change the ecu and tap an oil lind for the vtec head. theres a little more to it than that, but i dont feel like typing it.

I told him he was going to need the ECU, as well as the Head. :lol: Someone feel like explain what else is needed for this swap?
