O2 sensor !!

Hi , there !!

I just had a new header and cat installed on my ITR about 2days ago.
Just after finishing the installation, Engine check light was on.
Actually, when the guy, who fitted the header and cat for me, removed the O2 sensor, which consists of 4different wires being put in the plastic socket, in order to put the new cat and header, all of sudden the wires were taken apart from where they were supposed to be.

The guy couldn't remember the sequence where the wires were at the first place. So what he did was tracking the sequence of wires in the top part, being plugged in the ECU. But he failed to put them back in right position. And then he tried a few possibility to find out the right sequence.
Finally, the engine check light was gone and never came on again. It seems alright now.
But I just think that the reason why the engine check light was gone could be either because he put them back in the right position or because the O2 sensor is being broken and malfunctioning.

Can anyone tell me what will happen, if the O2 sensor is broken or malfunctioning?? Does it make white exhaust gas out of the muffler?? and dose the engine check light stay on, even if the O2 sensor is broken??
My car was making the white exhaust gas, when the engine check light was on.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!!

Ok...I think I have the most experience with my god damned oxygen sensors over the past two years, so I'll tell you what happens. (yes I'm pissed at the little buggers)

On the first one that was messed up, the car would seriously bog down after stopping at a stop sign or stop light. Annoying as hell, let me tell you.

Then, the second one that had to go was a lot more subtle. My check engine light came on, but not for the "oxygen sensor" code, but for fuel delivery since I was running so lean. So I eventually gave up after about 3 months of trying to troubleshoot it and they replaced it. Has run fine ever since. Basically, all it did was get bad gas mileage (like 19 hwy!) and feel weak driving around the neighborhood.

Hope that helps a little.
Thank you very much!!

I just had the Apexi FC installed on my ITR about 2days ago.
At that thime, the mechanic who fitted and tuned Apexi FC for me found out nothing wrong with my car, besides my car was pinging a bit before the Apexi FC installed. Now it's been tuned and fixed properly.
Anyway, there is no check engine light and my ITR is running fine.
there is nothing I have to worry about.
I will just enjoy my ITR with Apexi FC!!
