I am sure those of you here on the west coast must use some sometime... 91 Octane isnt exactly the best for our cars.

So, what octane boost have you used and what do you feel is best?

For me Shogun and NOS racing/off road formula work the best. NOS is like $10 a bottle, where as Shogun is like $4.

I just bought this "Turbo 108" which has methanol in it and it say "professional racing formula" on it, so hopefully this will do the trick! :D

Also, another thing I have heard of is using Tolene and mixing it with gas. This is supposedly safe, but I havent ventured that far yet.

for some reason my car runs a little shittier on octane boost but that may be because i used STP octane boost:confused:

your car will run fine if you retard the base timing a bit.

saying "91 isn't the best for our car" doesn't seem like a good reason to buy a bottle of octane boost for every tank if thats what your doin. i think you should only buy it if your gonna race or to clean the deposits in your cylinder.

The first thing you see on the JRSC is a warning sign and it says "WARNING: USE 92 OCTANE FUEL MINIMUM"

The reason your car runs like crap on the higher octane/octane boost is all gas at the pumps is the same base stuff. The higher grades have more anti-knock chemicals mixed in; hence less combustible particles in the same volume.

So... if you just bump up the octane w/o changing anything else, you're going to make LESS power.

and rules were meant to be broken! :D They put that in there as a "Warning" so that they don't get dumbasses with a lot of cash to spend on a JRSC, and then shooting themselves in the foot because they used 85 or 87 octane instead.
