i have a 92 DX hatch(says it in my sig), right now im pretty set on buying a b18c5 and going nuts on it(cams, gears, intake, exhaust, etc), but now im also thinking about going with a b16a2, building it up, and turboing it, i kinda like the idea of being NA, but turbo is so badass, im sure i could get more hp out of the turbo b16a2 but i need something totally reliable and even the inkling of running lean and blowing that shit terrifies me, what would you guys do? NA b18c5 or built-up/boosted b16a2?

Both setups would be nice. I am building a boosted b18c5 myself. i like turbo but, it all depends on what u like.
boosted b18c5 sounds nice, but if i went with one of those id leave it all motor, the b16a2 though would get some kind of FI, i think i read on this site that stock b18c5 in a hatch would run 13(mid to high) then modded low high 12s to low 13s, that would be beutiful, damn it, as if its not hard enough to save up money for this damn hobby, then you have to actually decide what to do with you money....fuck
the only way u gonna hit thirteen with a stock b18c5 is with slicks

see thats one of the things thats killing me about type Rs, ive seen tons of peopel claim tha their integra type R hit high 13s, with just i/h/e/, my friend has a video from when he was at the track, type r, just intake and a cf hood, and it ran 13.8, then i read car and driver and shit and it says they run high 14s, this shit is fucking killing me

Rs usually run mid 14s....I've seen a b18c5 hatch hit 12.9 with I/H/E and slicks...you should be able to get mid 13s without slicks

mid 13s on street tires with just i/h/e/ would be awesome, since you can actually say youve seen it ill beleive it(although you could be lieing but why?), then with cams and tuning maybe id me able to hit high 12s on street tires....sound possible?
both are cool...I like turbo and nitrous...but thats me...whatever floats your boat
i would go w/ the b18c5 and build it. if u were to get a b16, u should go all motor as well. turbo is cool, but i dont think it would be good for a b16. an LS motor would be a good motor to boost on. The tranny would give u the time to get ur turbo spooling. when dealing w/ b16 trannies, u cant really get the boost u want cause of the gear ratios.
If you go with a b16 and boost it, then use an ls tranny with a lightened flywheel. With the lightened flywheel first and second gear are similar to b16 gears, but 3rd and beyond are longer. Im planning on turboing and bottlefeeding my b16 with my ls tranny. USe the bottle to spool up sooner, and let the turbo take over
