Why use an LS tranny? Is this going to see boost?

Longer gears being better for boost is a myth. Ask anyone, that really knows their shit. If you want higher top speed, yeah the LS tranny would be better. But for 1/4 mile times, street races, or whatever you want, short gears are better for maximum acceleration, whether the car is turbo or not.

Better tranny options:
B16 tranny
GSR tranny
ITR tranny

Also it would be good to get LSD if you can, some JDM versions of the B16 and GSR tranny come with it. And both the USDM and JDM ITR tranny come with it. I have an ITR tranny I love it.

Nope. But you can always put LSD in one. Any OEM b-series LSD will work, or any aftermarket LSD made for a b-series tranny.
