I wanted to paint some parts of my interior like the Console part and the door handles, vents, you get the idea. Now what kind of paint should I use to do it,,Or should I just give them to the body shop and get them to do it. I have a paint gun and stuff that I've been dieing to use. What are your suggestions???

I really don't care man....looks like you know nothing about it. Anyone else that has a brain want to reply???
clean the parts well with rubbing alcohol or bicardi 151 if your rich. Then you can choose to primer it and let it dry....then spry paint it or use your spray gun...I dont like primer though cause it adds too much layers and will make it peel if its dinged...I primered a piece and it came out ok...but I did the rest with straight spray paint...and it stuck real well....just make sure after you clean it with rubbing alcohol that you use fine sand paper and sand the plastic parts to be painted down a bit so that the paint sticks...dont forget one layer of paint might not be enough...just dont ever spray another layer while one layer is still fresh or damp.
try doing a search for an old post, I listed all the steps....it really can be a pain in the ass so good luck.

Yeah, I believe there is a sticky in the civic forum about it.

Its not my car, but are you sure you want to do that? I was at honda the other day, and this kid traded in his ex civic with the interior painted...They slashed the price so bad just because of that.
Yeah, and make sure that you think it through first. For example, a lot of people want to paint their dash white. Sounds nice and looks good. But good luck driving it in the daytime. It will almost blind you when the sun hits it.
I started doing my girls interior this last weekend, Ill take some pict and post them later but here is what i did

get
fine grit sand paper
oil/dirt/wax cleaner
primer
adhesion promotor
paint
clear coat
(you can find all this at pep boys, auto zone, wal mart)

01. take the parts out you want to paint
02. clean them with the cleaner
03. sand them
04. clean them again
05. adhesion promotor
06. 2 coats of primer
07. adhesion promotor
08. 2 coats of paint
09. adhesion promotor
10. 2 coats of clear coat

yeah thats right i know nothing about doing this kind of stuff to hondas... i work on cars for a living... mostly imports... and i get to do this stuff all the time trust me... look at the car below i did that one, and also done it about 3 times over cuz the paint likes to eventually rub off the plastic... just get a good few coats on there and maybe a few coats of clear and you'll be set for a while... check out the picture here

but anyhow, like i said... its pretty much a waste of time cuz one day you'll be re-doing it

I can get to this page http://www.geocities.com/civicsi20002000/ but not the one with that pict
I have some of the interior parts painted in my car and I used "SEM" paint. I had to call around for a paint shop that carried it. I goes for about $8 a can and unless you are painting everything that will be plenty also pick up some clear coat it come in low luster and high luster I used low and wish I had used the high. And as far as the glare from the sun...its not bad at all and I painted it metalic silver. But like the others said take your time between coats otherwise it will bunch up and you have to start over. Good luck!
well thanks guys. I've thought about the pros and cons of doin it, and I think I just may do it. I have always thought that the SiR interior was kinda blah but tastsefull. Well see what happens. But thanks to you all.
